So my 17 year old daughter rear ended another car with the wife's 1999 XJ. The front bumper suffered a little damage. Worst of it was the crunching and cutting of the bundle of wires running behind the bumper for headlights and turn signals.
Spent yesterday splicing all the wires back together. Everything seems to be working properly except no flashing from the turn signals now on the front or rear of the vehicle and no hazards. The turn lamps light, but no flashing. I'm going to replace the turn signal flash relay tonight in hopes that does the trick. I'm hoping the crunching of those wires in the front bumper somehow fried the relay.
Check all associated fuses and they're all good. And, like I said the turn signal lamps light, just no flashing.
Anything I might be missing. Is it reasonable to believe the relay might have been fried when the wires got cut/crunched/grounded to the frame?
