Truck forums stink....

Ok guys, help me out....i'm trying to order tires for the truck, its going to see every snow storm this winter and some mud, i have the truxus Mt's on my xj and love em, but too loud, i heard pro comp xterrains and mud terrains were quiet for what they are, but so far bad feedback on those tires from the forums, what aggressive MT is out there that isnt deffening like my truxus mts? I'm considering micky thompson MTZ's, pro comp xterrain/mudterrain, or and super swamper that might be a little less noisy on the road than my Mt's. Any opinions from experience greatly appreciated!

I know several people who are running these TIRES and really seem to like them for their trucks.

I'm not recommending the seller, just the first link I came up with.

I didn't even notice what kinda tire you were asking about because I was remined of how pissed I was about my F-150 that I had.

I've got the ProCraps MT on my 96' XJ and they grip well off-road, but they are nowhere near quiet on-road! They are wearing fast also. I think for your truck they will wear out fast and be noisy untill they die! I'm going BFG MT next time!

They look great and I get lot of compliments from people who don't know better.

anyone have experience w/ the MT MTZ's yet?
there was a post in the picture forum that someone had just put them on. He didn't have any experience with them yet, but was going to post back.
As for your tire choice. I don't think that many MT tires with gigantic tread blocks are going to be ideal for snow plowing and such, which is what I assume your winter business will be in CT. All the snowplow guys I see around here use BFG AT/KO tires.

yea ive seen a few trucks w/ the bfg's on them, but my buddy had a YJ w/ the bfg's, and i had a set of MT's on my xj, and i went a lot farther than he did in deep snow. aside from that i will be seeing some mud w/ the truck as well, those are the reasons why i was leaning towards an MT. I'll keep searching though. Thanks all

since I'm looking for tires too I researched the MTZ and came up with soemthing that may be of interest to you.

Hercules tire makes the MTX tire, they have a cheaper (much cheaper) tire, the Terratrac MT, that shares a lot of the same tread traits. It looks like it would be a bit more street friendly, and doesn't have the big over the sidewall lugs. Anyway, I found those on ebay under the Electra MT brand name for less than $400 at my door for 4 in 31x10.5. Your size may be a bit more.
