It might have been the cheesy BMW but it was still a Beemer........and I saw how much parts cost and gone it went. It was just my POS daily driver..........not like my pride and joy.

BMW actually make alot of diesel engines for the cars that are sold in Germany and in Europe. They have some really interesting engineering involved with them as well. For example the pistons have a dish shaped area on the top. And the fuel injector actually protrude down into the cylinder. Supposedly this is to help the fuel burn more efficiently and to also make the engines much quieter than the typical diesel engine.
If I can find the article I was reading that spoke of all this I will be sure to post a link here.

in germany a BMW is nothing fancy or exotic, you'll see them with a manual, cloth seats, and gasp, no sunroofs. Lots of diesel.

Hey Troy, I have a question that has been niggling in the back of my head for a while now. Whats with al the police cruisers running hubcaps now? They used to always have the black steelies w/ chrome centercaps but now I see them with some ultra-gay looking hubcaps.

Probably just a style preference thing. :dunno:
CSP has always run full hubcaps and generally I recall Lakewood did too - on the Chevys.
Our fleet manager sees full hubcaps as an unnecessary expense both in initial purchase and having to replace them when they go missing.
