Trip to Uwharrie

Nick, myself, and a few of our friends took a day trip to Uwharrie to enjoy the beautiful weather and the holiday weekend. We had one friend of mine who was a beginner to wheelin, and she did awesome! Definitely a lot of fun on the trails with some great people...this will be done again in the near future!

Sweet! Looks like a good time. I went next door and helpd them work on the trail for a couple hours. I need to get up there soon.

Honestly Glenn you may as well just save a little more than head up to Callalantee... I mean Uwharrie's fun but not on 40+" tires. Maybe you could plan your trip around DPG's open invite this month.

We were down there today and the Xterra went up Kodak pretty easily twice (locked on 35's)... It's only an hour from me but I think it's worth the extra 35-40 minutes to get to Mountain City. Besides running Kodak's ledge/Daniel's ledges everything else is 2wd. It's a fun place to trail ride.... but if you know your way around Mountain City there's a ton more trailriding and it's cooler/no dust.

Uwharrie is the dustiest place on earth!

Uwharrie is the dustiest place on earth!

If the rain fall pattern stays normal then it's not too bad. However there hasn't been a drop of rain in a couple of weeks so it was insanely dusty this weekend.

Where were you set up? We saw a light blue late model at the end of Rocky Mtn but wasn't sure if that was you or not.

i was with a black xj too. i was at rocky mount but it was sat.
the only trail i hit sunday was dickey bell.

We ran Dickey Bell, Slab Pile, Dutch John, and Rocky Mtn.

If you're not overly modified then it's a pretty good time. They've done a lot of work to the trails since last year...made them almost too easy. Hopefully once the rain picks back up again the washout will help make it a bit more challenging.

I am running 5.5" lift and 31s and locked. The last time I was there was about 4 years ago. I alway liked Uwharrie. Its nothing extreme but a fun place none the less. I will post something when I come up with a date.

GoPro Hero HD. That video was shot in 720p 30fps. The mud video on my Youtube account was shot in 1080p 30fps. It will shoot in 720p 60fps(very sweet stuff!), but my laptop can't handle that (or really the 1080) so I'm just shooting in 720-30 right now.

One caveat about the GoPro, they have been promising some software updates that are quite overdue, which is really starting to frustrate people. There is nothing wrong with the current software, but they promised some new features that have yet to be released.

Ha!, it was close- had to pull in ds mirror and when comming down the rear shifted and just cleared the tree by an inch.
