Trip Report: Indy (8-2-08)

Yeah, I know...a little late on the report... Hit up Indy with the guys from MTO fab. here in Fort Collins on Saturday. Had an interesting time getting to Colorado Springs the night before since they were already camped out on the trail. Noticed one of my MTR's was rather low on air before I left from work Friday evening (and Im a Tire Tech too :twak but I just said fawk it, aired it up and left since I was running late...only for it to go flat on me and get ruined driving on the highway. Nothing like having your rear end want to fishtail on ya going 75 Got my spare slapped on which has never been driven on, only to find out the damn thing is like an egg with tread it's so fukking out of round . Got to deal with my rig vibrating to the point of being able to make my teeth chatter for the next three days :rant: Made it to the trail head about 7:30 in the morining, got on the trail about 10, off the trail about 5ish. Total carnage from the trip...2 killed MTR's, both sides of front axle shafts on one of the toyotas, one driveshaft, a bent LCA mount and some body damage :yes:. We all had to winch the exit, except for the blue toyota...but he got a little "highway paving" to help. Ok enough with the talk, onto the pictures!

Two winches and a strap later we got him out...breaking a shaft right in front of the exit = not good

In all it was an awesome run, techincal driving, and just a fawking blast. Looking forward to running it again sometime, though it will probably will be the last run for the jeep more than likely...before the buggification begins.
