Hi, today i changed the rear axle oil and the transfer case fluid. When i dropped out the transfer case fluid it was red in color like atf. The fluid that i got from the stealership was normal engine oil color. It says on the label mopar transfer case oil. Anyway seeing as though they didnt return my call today and because i dumped the old oil into a dirty container. And the fact i needed my car, I filled it with the new oil. I gave the stealership my car reg when i bought the oils so i assumed the previous owner filled it with atf and everything is ok. Tonight i do some searching on here and now im not sure? Its a 97 and the model shown on the badge is 242. The back of the label on the oil says, 'This lubricant is intended for use in the nv245, nv247 nv249 transfer case and not recommended for use in other vehicle transfer case applications'. Ive never heard of those tc's? Have i done a wrongun? Thanks
