Where is a good place to mount a tranny cooler on my 99XJ. Also I want to put in a temp. gauge. What temp. is my target. I live in Arizona with temps in the 115 plus right around the corner

u can mount one on the radiator in front, or get a frame mount cooler setup from perma-cool.
I run dual B&M supercoolers on mine, one on the radiator, one underneath the radiator support.
I dunno about temps, havent installed my temp gauge yet.
You might already have a cooler, built into ur radiator.
I would checker-auto first.

I run an OEM auxillary cooler. It has brackets that line up with two holes in the front X-member. You have to remove the bumper to mount it and its a tight fit between the AC condenser and the front facsia, but that puts it out in front of everything and just behind the grill. You could take the grill out and get after market brackets which extend down to the front X-member. B&M and Derale make these brackets. I used OEM to get the quick connect hoses to get a leakproof setup on the cooling lines, but Derale makes some splice in connectors for $7.00 that look OK.

You want it behind the grill to get it in the good airflow and get it up out the debris into a protected location.
