Trails? Any help?

I was hoping someone could help me out, my wife and I recently had a baby so, I havent been able to get out and have any fun on the trails. I am not really familiar with socal trails (coming from Wa. State) so I really have not been out much since living here. I live in San Diego and am looking for somewhere I can go that it no more than 30 minutes away where I can be close to home. I don't think I should be venturing out very far yet. Any help?
Thanks

Welcome to SOCAL. There are several guys in this group in the San Diego area. They will know what is close to you. I know there is Octillo Wells out the 8, but I think it's a little ways out there. There are others, I am not familiar with that area though. I am in Orange County. There is a ton of great wheelin within a 2 hour drive from SD. Keep watching for post about runs. It will be a little quiet around here for a couple of weeks because of the Moab trip. It's NAXJA's annnual run and most of the guys on here go to that. There is a run in Johnson Valley in Nov. It's a little drive, but there is nothing like desert wheelin.

Good Luck!

Corral Canyon OHV area is just east of SD and it has some good trails.

Take a look at the Sidewinder video someone posted a day or 2 ago.

This link has a great book on it with trails. If you scroll down on the webpage, it lists all the trails by area and difficulty. In the book, it gives excellent trail descriptions, time/distance, directions, and advice on what gear you should have for each trail. Sidewinder and a bunch of others are on there.

There really isnt any wheeling within a half hour of san diego. At least not any that is not on private land. Lawrence welk has an area called miriam mountains or something like that. Its the closest and is on private land but has people on it quite often. I havent been there in a year or so.

Corral Canyon by lake morena is the closest. It is on hour east of san diego off of the 8 (buckman springs exit). I was just there last sunday. See the sidewinder video thread posted a few days ago. There is everything from wild to mild there.
