It's time for the 5th annual "TOYS for ROCKS" toy run at Callalantee OHV park in Mountain City Tn.
Paul has stepped up again and is donating the use of the park on Saturday August the 6th, 2011.
The daily fee will be $5.00 PER VEHICLE not person (this will cover ins. and electric used at the cabin) if you bring a new unwrapped toy to help the community center give smiles and joy to Children in Johnson Co. Tn. This Christmas.
All toys will stay in the county and help those here that need the help.
Last year was a huge success and we look forward to meeting everyone again and meeting new folks. We collected over 400 toys to give out .
The community was very happy and pleased that we as a group stepped up and helped those in need

Excellent cause but just too far away since I'm tapped out from the Crawl.

I hope they have a great turnout!!!

I am sure they will, understand the lack of funds and definately the distance, I just know there are a few folks in the area.

Callahantee is a badass place to wheel if you've never been, and its also usually pretty expensive, $15 a person, so for $5 per vehicle, take the whole family, and use the money you would have otherwise spent on park admission on toys for Kids in the area who otherwise may not get any for Christmas.

agree with high2by, sounds like a good cause. my jeep is still broke from the crawl and taking the time to do some major rework. hope you all have a good turnout and get lots of gifts for thr kids

Just wanted to update this thread, they have put together a paypal account for donations, all the money collected will be used to buy toys for the Kids of the Mountain City area.

Thanks.

I saw this on NC 4x4 and the problem they had getting it together this year. Kinda sad Callantee is going the way of Winrock prices. I'm still broke from Harlan.... in more way then one. I thought this would be done closer to the winter but unfortunately its too soon for me to get mine back together.

This event is in Mountain City, Tennesee, I am pretty sure there is a pretty decent group of folks within 2 hours. I only try to advertise these events as best I can.

As of now it looks like I have to pass on the trip, but will be making a donation still.

@Ghost, yeah, its a damn mess, I rode up there and met the woman who runs it and her son, he seemed to be a decent person, she was polite, but clueless, she was put in charge of running the place recently, and honestly its done more bad than good. Funny thing is that they raise the price to wheel, but there is never anyone there to collect, so its on the honor program mostly. Last time I went we just put our money in a drop box and signed the waiver, I wonder how many people didn't pay at all.

Ive never been to Windrock, but I am planning to be there for the ECORS race this year, I don't mind paying a premium to wheel really, but I think that Mountain City wouldn't bend for this charity which has had a long running arrangement, is absolutely rediculous, and its even more hilarious that they didn't even reconsider until they realized there are other places we can go.
