Toyota axle

All I can say is, how many Toy's have you seen stuck on the trail with a broken rear axle? :D

TOY AXLES DONT SUCK! they are a lot stronger thay most of the axles ive seen. as long as you dont run any thing bigger than a 35's you have to be care full to not run to much hp though them. now those stupid britfild joints suck!

:anon:

Toy's will hold up to 38's no problem.

Agreed, and they hold my friends 350 hp, turbocharged 7mGTE motor just fine.

They are top notch axles when it comes to fit and finish. They set up with minimum fuss and hardly any shimming. They have nice, precise, tight tolerances.

But I still need a 4.10 (or 4.11) geared third member.

Anybody refer me to a toy website like ours? They probably have third members for sale there.

if you get a 3rd member out of a junkyard make sure it was out of a 4x4 and you will have 4.10.

Thanks Darkfly. I'm way out in the sticks and don't have easy access to a junkyard. I'm kinda stuck shopping on the net.

Dang. After all that, I measured the tubes and they are about 2 5/8, which I believe means they are pre-1986. Is this still worth working on at all?

pre 86 is still a strong axle in my opinion.

The only real downside is the width. They are a touch too narrow for my liking. A post 96 would be great.
