Towing with XJ

I want to pick up a couple of Quads and a trailer at some point, and I would be towing them with my Jeep.

I read that if you plan on towing, you shouldn't remove your rear sway bar, but if the biggest thing I ever plan on towing is two quads, will I be ok to remove the sway bar or should I just leave it.

you can remove it and have no problem inless your using a big enclosed trailer then you might have somthing to worry about.. but just a quad and two quad trailer pulls just fine

God damn people are dumb...Don't remove your sway bar if you are towing weight. The trailer is going to start pushing your Jeep all over. Why is this responsible towing thing such a hard thing to get through people's heads. Nick your question is valid and thank you for asking it. Don't listen to people that probably don't tow ever, ask those guys that tow their rigs to and from the trail, or those who tow for a living. If anything happens while you are towing and you have to make an emergency stop or action and you can't do it because you removed your sway bar. You will get sued or a ticket. I've seen it happen. Remove your swaybar to flex your Jeep, put it back on while towing.

I use to tow 2 jetskis with my old XJ with 31's on it and rear sway bar INSTALLED I would not have towed without it. The XJ towed them OK but did not stop well (leave lots of rood in front of you expecially if you are running a MT tire) Other than that it towed OK but could have used more HP and or TQ

I don't think I wheel hard enough to necessarily need my sway bar off yet.

Make up some rear sway bar quick disconnects--best of both worlds.

Apparently I care about other people's safety too much, my bad. I think those who tow should do it responsibly and those who don't shouldn't give bad advice.
