Guys,

I need some help figuring out which torque converter I need for what I am doing here. This is the setup.

1997 Block 4.6L Stroker. Was installed in a 93 using all 93 parts and worked just fine. Being installed in a 99 now.

I tore it out of the 93 and will be installing it in a 99. I see on Napa they are different torque converters so I need to know which I am going to need for the install. I’m pretty sure that I am over analyzing this and that the answer is “Of course you need the one from the 99 you douche” but I want to make sure. I have a guy that wants to buy my AW4 from the 93, and he wants the TC as well. I’m just hesitant to sell it without knowing which TC I need. Oh…same question for the Flywheel…

Thanks!

Todd

Sorry BTT, kid is coming after work and I have to leave in a few hours. Anyone have an idea here?

Thanks,

Todd

I don't know how interchangeable they are but the converter in my 97 is noticably more loose than the older models. I like it, makes it smoother offroad but probably knocks down the mpg a hair.

if your using the trans from the 99 then just use the tc and flexplate from the 99, i know the flexplates were the same for 91-00 and the motors were the same mounting wise
