torque converter clutch circuit malfunction

My Jeep check engine light came on on my 1999 jeep cherokee 4.0 l6 2 WD tranny is an AW4 so after scanning with obds2 I have a po740 (torque converter clutch circuit malfunction),Now I'll rebuild an engine in a heartbeat, however I've never done any serious work on an automatic transmission can you tell me how to repair this problem, or point me at some Info. thanks in advance D Fields

and the torque converter will not lockup rpm's are to high and now after I have been driving for awhile it has began to stall when I accelerate, once it starts stalling it run's fine below 2000 rpm but when you go over 2000 the engine stalls could both of these be because of the po740 code or am I maybe looking at two diferent problems can you tell me how to repair this problem.
