Top 25 Mods/Upgrades List?

I think the very first thing someone should do is uniframe stiffeners, it should rank above all other mods. Especially for people who aren't gonna lift it higher(5.5"+) right away. I know when I was at 2.5" lift and now 3.5" lift, the ruff stuff uniframe stiffeners has saved my frame from dents and such going over rocks.

One thing I'll do is once we get a bigger list going, set this up as a poll so we can have votes on the most popular ones and then build the list from there!

  • Suspension Lift Kit (less than 4” lift)
    Add: Long Arms/Adjustable Control Arms with 4” or greater lift.
  • Slip Yoke Eliminator (SYE)
  • WJ Front Brakes
  • WJ Steering/Knuckle Swap, Over the Knuckle (OTK) steering, ZJ Tie Rod, etc
  • Headlight Relays
  • First Aid Equipment
  • Sliders/Rock Guards
  • Roll Cage/Roll Bar
  • Steering Upgrade
  • Rear Axle Upgrade
  • Skid Plates
  • Traction Control (Locker/Limited Slip)
  • New Seats
  • 4 or 5 Point Harness
  • Frame Stiffner
  • YJ Alternator Swap
  • Ford Taurus (3rd Gen) Fan
  • 2-Wheel Drive Low (T-Case)
 
The problem with making an official list like this is the Noobs will never read it, and just post repetitive new threads anyway. Probably should be a rule preventing anyone with under 50 posts from starting a new thread.

My hope is we get a sticky on this once we have something pretty robust.
 
The only problem I see with this thread is that it isn't "Tech" at all, just a wish list. IMO Cal was kind and left it under "Tech".

A decade or so ago, someone suggested setting up a FAQ section in the Tech section (it was on the pull down at the top of the Forum).
It's useful as often links to photos get changed/deleted over time.

I am not the 'last say' around here, but you can be pretty sure this thread will never be a sticky.

To start with, we have too many sticky's.. More importantly though, this is a thread full of opinions that not everyone will ever agree on, and just not sticky or even faq material.
 
First Aid Kit, Fire Extinguisher(easy to reach) and Tow Points should be at the top in bold, everything else is just opinions

Rev limiter.
 
i think there is just too many different purposes for the cherokee, you can design it to you needs from racing to mud bogs, which all call for different things.. one modification we can all agree on is the cheapest of all...
the tailgater defense mechanism
pull the rear washer hose and enjoy!
