Saw this bad boy at the junkyard today. Its a shame the owner gave up and never finished it. I think they really nailed the pinion angle

hahaha I love the old upper control arm just sorta chilling there

custom front blocks, looks safe....

Wait. Are you sure it was never finished? I see a flat tire on the driver side...

Were the welds connecting the leaf perches to the axle tubes cracked?

Gut feeling is that they sucked at welding and the perches broke off and the axle housing rotated the first time they slammed on the brakes.

Anyone else wondering why there appears to be a piece of tube connecting both shackles together?

That's the flex limiting device.

Probably because he built ten foot long shackles and then realized they would fold over... so he fixed that with a fix that won't fix it.

It's much more satisfying to just throw it in the garbage, aka Billy's backyard.

you'd think they would have at least tried to part it out

Whoever had the brains to build something like that doesn't have the brains to do the smart thing. I'm surprised to see a TJ in a junk yard but I'm not surprised it looks like that.

Billy, stop passing off your own work as 'some idiot made this and I saw it in a JY' ;)
