Tires around Oakland?

Anyone know a good tire shop around Oakland? Having trouble finding one that sells Yokohama or BFGs... or anything decent in a 30-31" size. One store sold Michelins in a 31" at 130 bucks out the door, haven't heard anything much about Michelin tires for Jeeps.
Any thoughts / reccomendations?
Been trying to find a set used... no luck.

Unless you drive in mud, Michelins are great tires. You will not get a longer lasting tire.

I beg to differ. After 3 years Michelins normally get serious weather cracking on the sidewalls. Goodyear tires are my own personal favorite and have been for many years. But to each his own....

Big O on Park Street in Alameda always treated me good.

If you can make it into San Francisco, Larkin Brothers tire on South Van Ness is quick, reliable, customer friendly and has a good selection of BFGs.

Huh? Buddy got 106K out of a set of 31" Michelins on a Tacoma. I got over 50K out of another set on a full size Bronco before I sold it, and the tires still had another 20k or so left.

I am currently running a set of 30" Michelins on a cherokee. Bought them used with about half tread, and have put over 20k on them and I can't tell they have worn any since I got them.

If you saw a 3 year old michelin with sidewall cracks, it was sitting in the sun unused all that time. That is definitely not "Normal".

Well if you and your buddy had good luck then I must be wrong. I will err on your side based on your vast experience with Michelins.... :twak:

I'll have to go with Letterman. I've got nearly 40k on my old 35" MTR's and they still have 10/32's tread remaining. Of course I also got 45k off a 32" set of old style BFG MT's. But I had more than 1 issue with the BFG's while on the trail. Swamp Lake seemed to like to eat my BFG's.....

talk to dave at 4wheelparts on oakland. he always gives good deals.
