Thought i'd share the new rig..

I'm embarrased big time over those bearings, just had to admit our screwup to the guys at Foothill who sold us the parts. Anyway..

Wheel spacers have been purchased, also picked up a set of the Crown e-code glass housings with Piaa bulbs and new headlight harness stupid cheap.

My bud just bought and settled on a large two car garage that happily had a home included.. now we have a much larger garage for our projects. Lift in a few weeks..finally.

UPS Gorilla's strike again.. one of my ZJ e-codes didnt make it.

Received my replacement headlight assembly last week, decided to let all the other pressing issues in my life wait while i did something relaxing for a few hours.

I dont have high's currently but i'll swap the relays and see if thats my issue.

The no high beams turned out to be a loose connection on the plug to high's relay. Fixed and working now. These e-codes are worth EVERY FREAKING PENNY.

Things i learned today:

Figure three to four times the pita factor to grind XJ44 spring perches off. Taking my time so i dont get into the tube has me ~3 hours just to get them off.. then grind the weld down. Shock mounts tomorrow and the axle is ready.

Cotton sweat pants are NOT fire retardant...

Install the Claytons crossmember later in the week and i'm ready for saturday's rear axle setup. Cant wait to finally have this rig elevated.

On another note. I'v been putting off back surgery for better than 17 years.. living on pain pills and a heating pad/bed so much recently had me visit the Dr. He's telling me my time has run out. Might be reconsidering and going under the knife after the holidays, hope all goes well and i can keep up the Jeep lifestyle and spending time camping out west. I'm not quite ready to sell the Jeep and go back to a hotrod...

nice that you've got some stuff done. do the surgery, my mom was putting it off for a while and did it and has no regrets. sure, the few weeks recovery sucks but not popping pain killers every 6 hours is worth it.

hope everything works out with the back... back pain sucks.

for leaf perches, I generally cut about as deep as I can with a cutting wheel at a 45 degree angle, smash em off with a hammer, then grinding wheel the welds down till the tube is smooth. If you cut in the right spot, it only takes a few minutes and a couple whacks before they fly off, though I've butchered my fair share as well :gee:

Thanks guys.. feeling every bit of my 50 years.

Pat.. i have gauges but need to get bottles. Not that i'd use them very often.

The rear is ready for Joe at Endless Mountain Fab come saturday. Tomorrow i gotta get my Claytons crossmember installed.. hope i dont run into issues with the weldnuts.

Claytons crossmember is welded in. Joe had an issue with his TIG and he needs to get that squared away to finish welding up my axle brackets. Thanks Joe... much appreciated.

This am i started tearing the front end apart, it'll take some time but i'll plug away and hope i have the Jeep done before the first big snowfall.

I just did a full Claytons Front and rear Long arm on my ZJ.. You are going to LOVE the ride of a Longarmed ZJ.. It's like.. driving a cloud

And yes.. I still love my (now) Double trussed 44a... lol

I'll bet your enjoying it Scott.. rear LA's will have to wait awhile for me.

Scott/Pat/squash, got a question. Does a Limited ZJ have a larger diameter front swaybar? What about the rear swaybar?

All the same.

WJ's have a larger front bar than ZJ's- there is a writeup on speedfreaks.net to convert to this style but I don't think too many have done it.

Squash, found that in a Google search this am while having coffee. Just skimmed over it, i'll check it again later. Also saw mention only the 5.9 has a slightly larger front SB. I was just curious.. dont know if i'll even feel the need.

Any of you guys running a 4.5" coil? Can i get an approx of the length at ride height? That'd help me with arm lengths..

About to start cutting the lower mounts off.

I don't remember ever seeing anything about the 5.9 having a larger sway bar. Chrysler brochure doesn't list anything about it and I think that would definitely be a distinguishing feature from a regular Limited.
