That I am in the military to defend folks that have the RIGHT to do this.

I already have a work party to go to in the morning. But if any of you can go, please do.

EDIT: Sorry, a little background would be nice.

The patriot guard will be there as a "shield" to protect the grieving family of SGT Garrigus in McCleary. These WBC fawkers have a right to be there, so the Patriot Guard rides to each event they are at to keep a barrier in between the WBC and the family.

Please go if you can. We have lost one of our brothers.

If I went I would go to prison. I only hope somthing extremely terrible and painful happens to these people. I wish sometimes the U.S. wasnt so free.

RIP Sgt. Garrigus, thank you for your sacrifice and selfless service.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Freedom is a double-edged sword. I won't stand for censorship - people have the right to say what they want. However, that doesn't mean that I have to put up with it, and I consider it proper for me to return the favour with my own message, if and when.

I have a large problem with the "God Hates Fags" people and "Reverend" Phelps - but if we stop him from saying what he wants, who is to say that such censorship won't be expanded until we start cutting off people who are on our side?

Meanwhile, should I meet up with the Patriot Guard Riders, I would be honoured and pleased to buy them each a beer and hoist one with them (even though mine won't be beer,) because I agree with them far more than I'll ever agree with Phelps' XXXXXXs...

I do, however, think that there should be some sort of measure passed preventing demonstration at funerals - whether for fallen soldiers, or for civilans, or people who died in their sleep. A funeral is not RPT NOT the place for a political demonstration, and I honestly think that people who were to lash out at the demonstrators (from within the funeral party) could legitimately plead "temporary incapacity caused by mental distress" and, hopefully, get away with it.

I thought of this Sgt's mother, when I read that flyer. I imagined it being my own mother grieving, and having to deal with so called christians protesting her sons worth, and that is what really got me peeved. A funeral is a time for grieving, accepting loss, and reckoning.

That this group relates itself to christianity in any way also upsets me. I find it astonishingly vulgar, that these people take bible passages and contort them into evil dictations. I wonder why more christians dont stand up against these chingered up cults, and even more so what type of person joins them? Cerainly no one of my aqaintance.

Forgive my shotty grammar and comp, to much Rockstar and LevelOne has stopped my brain from functioning, and my eyes from sleeping.

I am sad for the famalies that have to put up with this, but at the same time the anger in my heart wants to boil over in a rage against the heartless bastards that would disrespect our nations greatest hero's.

Same here, but this is how Phelps and his cult want you to react...so they can lump you in with all the 'fags' and give them justification for what they do. They fabricate every aspect of their own lives.

Wow, That is really sick. I feel badly for his family and I acknowlege and repect his sacrifice for this country.

It also amazes me that these people are twisting sciptures to suit their own agenda and still calling themselves Cristians. I do not want to start any religious debates, but I do know that they are not Christians. Disgusting.

Sad. I agree with you Jeremy. I am far from a religious scholar, or even a very religious man. I do know that this goes WAAAAYYY beyond the tennants of Christianity, and into some sort of sick, twisted zealotry. They are just lucky to live in this country were their beliefs, speech and actions are protected, and paid for by people like SGT. Garrigus and the rest of our Armed Forces.

I've hated these SOBs for years now. I wish I'd have seen this before now. I'd have proudly been there by the Patriots. I'd assume they don't have much of a following in this area. Any following is too much.

On another note - Adam Corolla is syndicated to 107.7. He has these freaks on there rather frequently from what I gather. I used to love The End. I've quit listening to them all together as I'd heard them on there at least twice. Corolla even let them preach their nonsense for quite some time.

The Patriot Guard showed up when a friend of mine, Clp. Bier was beried last year. he was killed by an IED. i think they also saved allot of Marines from going to jail or getting NJP'd because most of my platoon was there and we were ready to shut them up. they also escorted the funeral.

P.S. I the word angry doesn't do it for me, I am an active United States Marine, infantry 0311, evryone knows what we are trained to do and know we do it well. i would drather eliminate these people than i would an Iraqi, becouse there were all born here in the U.S. the grew up here and got their education here. and now they are spitting in the faces of those who make sure thier children and thier childrens, children can do the same. i know about freedom of speech but i belive they have taken it too far. they are now more like terrorists, breaking down the structure of the people of the United States.

It's a very good thing I just saw this now, and not in time to go down there. These people are utterly fucking insane and need to be bashed in the face with fire extinguishers. Repeatedly.

I really don't have the vocabulary, linguistic acuity or verbal creativity to think of words to describe these evil, vile excuses for human beings, but I do know I would gladly assault any one of them given the chance, consequences be damned.

Here's a charming picture:

This is really great to watch though; WBC getting run off and attacked by a crowd:

I swear to God I'd go to jail and be happy about it if I could drive through a crowd of them in my Jeep.

Seems to me like all these people want is to stirr up crap and get a rise out of greaving parents and relatives. Shame on them. I am a Combat engineer in the Canadian Armed Forces and have had the misfortune to have to attend the funural of a good friend. If anyone there had had the balls to disrespect his memory, I for one, would have gone to jail for this. I've spent time in the brigg for a lot less. Shame on you. Remind them if you get a chance, that the freedom they take so carelessly was fought and won by those who fight and die for them.

Phil, warrior brother.

I too am in the CF (031), and I fully support the right to free speech, but demonstrating at a funeral won't help anything. It's just downright disrespectful and heartless. If you want people to listen to you, then you need to do it in a manner that will show them you're a reasonable person. Demonstrating at the funeral of a soldier who died for his country is not the place to do that.
