Edition 5.9 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was produced only in the 1998 model year installed two hood vents. These look really nice!

Wow I didn't know someome turned on the flame icon! :gee:

Aren't hood vents mods? Doesn't looking at pictures begin research for getting vents for your self? No one asked you to come in here and start stuff. I said at the subject it was that I was "Thinking of Hood Vents" and that there were lots of pics.

Whatever. :patriot:

Well I appreciate it!

Although I do think this is one of those between the thin line type deals. It's both picture thread and mod thread quality.

Good ideas in here though!

Yes, and I was just wondering if you were asking a specific question, like "I'm thinking about hood vents, which ones do you think would work better or look cooler?" I was just wondering if you forgot to add something as all I was were pictures.

My attitude wasn't directed at you Begster. I like the thought of hood vents and believe in their functionality. I just can't decide what kind to go after. I really like the cowl hoods, but they cost too much. So... I'm trying to find some. Thought others might be interested too so I put together a collection of pics to choose from. Got any preferences or thoughts on whether to do it or not?

Thanks for the pic's. I've been wanting some idea's. I think the Red hood pic works for me. Just wonder if rain will be a factor.

Yea thanks! I'm wanting to do some myself and these pics really help. :)

To much heat in cal..I like the wire cut outs..The red hood set up
thats too much it look like a friggin EVO hood. I f he is gonna do that he might as well go with the carbon fiber one :D

The only problem with hood vents is when rain meets your tps....and trust be, they dont get along very well. If you do this, just make sure to get a new TPS and throw it into the glove box. Since I'v put vents on mine, I've gone through two of them. Oh, by the way, having hood vents in hot climates actually works.

why not just make your own cowl??

Anyone know what the black metal mesh on the red hood is called?

Yah after digging through a few threads of the guy who made that (lazarus) I found out it is perforated steel. I called the metal supply company that's local and they said for a 4'x10' sheet with 3/16" holes 5/16" centers stagggered would be $230. I saw that price and almost choked on my sundrop when all I need is 2 pieces about 2'x2'.
