The tale of the $500 XJ

Its 99 and up and its alot of work for a renix I believe

Why not go with a 97 and up intake?

Good question. The reason why I haven't gone with an ho or horseshoe style intake is because I don't have the head that'll take that intake properly. Though a 7120 or a tupy 0331 head and matching intake and exhaust are in the extended future.

Also, with a 99+ intake there is no way to run the EGR that renix has. So, that would make it a SMOG issue.
Why not go with a 97 and up intake?

More stroker progress.

Ordered an AEM wideband O2 sensor with controller box and gauge to keep an eye on the air/fuel mix.

On the fast track to dropping it in next weekend.

Looking good man

Which wideband did you go with ? Link?

Couldn't help myself. Had to see what they look like on the potato. Not entirely sold on the color, but I really don't feel like redoing all those bolts.

Put a gusset between exhaust tube 5 and 6. Not sure if this was the best way to fix the notorious cracking issue of the exhaust header, but this was my idea.

summit racing has fix pipes too.

Block is decked, head is surfaced. Assembly begins tonight after work.

Got the cam bearings, and cam in tonight. Also chaised all the threads and deep cleaned the block.

calling it for the night. Got the crank, harmonic balanced and flywheel balanced. Installed the crank, pistons, and rods. Finally for the hell of it I timed in the cam and put the timing chain and gears in.
