So I figure now is the time to start my very own build thread. I have been slowly picking up parts over the last several months to start on my one ton but first alitte history on the jeep.
Its a 1988 Xj 4.0 non HO 4 door base edition that was my first vehicle I purchased when I was 14. I threw a 4.5 rusty's lift on and some 33x12.5x15 bfg mud terrains and drove it until i finally over heated enough that i didnt have time or money to fix it before school the next day. So i bought my neighbors that i built for him and started tearin that one up. it will remain my dd and also stay stock.
heres a list of new parts:
dana 60hp kingpin picked up out of a 79 ford snowfighter edition. 35 spline chromoly outers and will be locked soon.
dana 70hp out of a 78 ford f-350. 4.88s with a detroit.
set of 4 Sway Away 2.0 Airshocks.
links for front 3 link and rear double triangulated 4link.
york 210 oba
stainless steel headers
rubicon express hd trackbar and bracket and brace
3 core radiator (http://www.dpgoff-road.com/site/radiators.htm)
tranny cooler (http://www.jegs.com/i/B&M/130/70268/10002/-1)
all new exhaust
800$ worth of metal for cage, tube fenders, trusses, comp cut, raised cargo area to compensate for the 70 and the shock towers, reinforcing of the frame, rockers etc.
heres what it looked like before
the black one will be the build the yellow is remaining stock and the dd.
parts teaser pics:
Back bumper will be oba tank ends will be cut off to match the form of the comp cut and tube fenders will be tied into to the bumper
*****Alot of the parts i dont use will be for sale in the Arizona Chapter FORSALE thread soon if its not listed PM Me to see if i have it. The Lift kit will be for sale!!*****
Started tearing it apart:
This will be an ongoing build and seeing that I am taking 18 credits this semester and the next one as well as well as a job it will probably be a slower build thread, all depending on time and money.
That being said donations are accepted!
as well as any help, ideas, suggestions.
**Also I feel I should mention and thank Tim (IllogicalPro) who has and will be aiding me through the whole project. He just started an offroad shop Apocalypse Offroad, and is probably the best fabricator I have met. check out his comp cut thread in the AZ Chapter.**
be back in a few days with updates
