THe NAC Lots-O-Tech Thread

eh not great

goddamit i can't keep track of which thread i'm in.

One to make you smarter
One to make you dumber

You must always double check before posting due to the above. If mistaken, the outcome could be catastrophic.

Ps- this actually counts as tech:moon:

Alright, I think a few people missed my point/didn't read my post.

I want an exhaust system that ISN'T loud. I don't want something that is loud when I romp on it, or is really throaty.

This exhaust is to go on my daily driver. I have to drive it daily, and want to be able to hear myself think still.
I still say dynomax. If you want I will drive out to the cape and you can hear mine once my rig is back in my possession. Idk if it is just because I was used to a side dump cherrybomb but it is quite quiet. Granted I can't really hear it for now on the road due to aforementioned lack of interior components and excessive road/wind noise but hopefully that will be remedied soon.

I also should get a cat. The current one has a hose clamp around it from the PO because the shield was falling off.
Don't worry about that. Unless it has a hole rotted in it just take the heat shield off or throw a couple tack welds on it and call it a day. That's what I did and it seems fine now. If my welds didn't hold I was going to just pull it off and not look back like I did with my old car.

mmmmm, saturdayyyyy :)

I HATE NISSAN BRAKES!!! I finally got the front caliper brackets off after leaning most all my weight on a 2 ft breaker bar... now the rotor won't come off.

When I bought my 12 year old XJ it was easier to get the rotors off than it is to get them off my 2 year old altima. Time to go buy a new rubber mallet and a hand sledge.

did you take off the bolts holding the rotor on? most of the ones ive seen out there originally have a countersunk bolt with a philips head. the cars that i saw that have had rotors done before rarely had the bolts put back in.

No, I just needed a bigger hammer to get them off. Went out and got a 4.5 lb blacksmith's hammer and it came off in a matter of 15 seconds.

THIS THREAD IS DYING!

What e-brake cables will work for ZJ rear discs on a '98 XJ.

Is it any ZJ with rear discs? KJ cables?

My bro failed inspection for this. Trying to see how cheap they are if I can't get the cable clamp method to work on it. It doesn't work very well on my setup.

Anyone know any companies selling H1 Specific highsteer arms for d60's? found one company so far and I'm not to impressed so maybe I'm missing some other options.

i made a little bracket and crap that worked OK enough. just make a little bracket and weld it to the ZJ arm that accepts the XJ cable.

I'm so late on this but nooo I welded the spiders to the carrier big time. at least the c clips still come out and that shafts still come out :)

alright makes sense, i really had no idea what i was talking about haha i just remember you saying something about the spiders:dunce:
