Great for wrasslin.

Apparently my company decided to upgrade to Outlook and the Microsoft 2016 suite but never actually hit the button to do so on my computer. Productivity is going to be even lower than normal today.

just got my new mac book for work today, first time using osx for one of my main computers.

isn't it nice?

Its ok, not fully sold on it yet but it is mostly just the growing pains of switching between the two plus I am the first in the office to get one as a pilot program so it is hard to tell if the problems are caused by the mac or AD network.

So far:
-My network share directory cannot see recently created folders on the mac but can see recent files
-Have locked my network account out twice due to my fat fingers not working well with the key layout of the mac and not knowing which password it is asking for when
-The alt and super/command key position swap keeps throwing me off
-the menu bar at the top just need to remind myself it is for which window is on top
- happy to have a real terminal, but disappointed that it does not come with a package manager out of the box
-have to find good alternatives to some of the programs I used before that don't have a mac version
-Got to get use to lack of home/end key support
-Had to switch scroll direction because default mode called "natural" didn't feel natural
-lack of a proper docking station

but most os these are just getting myself comfy with the new environment or changing my mind set

I just switched back to windows. I'm liking it better and having a desktop with a tower is nice. I have added 2 fans to it and a amd fx processor.

It takes time to get used to. I hate the natural scroll mode and docking station? what year is it?

what programs are you looking to alternatives for?

no :moon:

I'm sorry.

I know with the docking station just so much easier to undock it and go from my desk, instead of having to plug in a million things everytime, would never buy one for myself personally but nice to have when the company pays for it

I will say it is starting to grow on me and I find myself doing things differently than normal in a more os x kind of way. Also I am still using my only windows keyboard and my hand natrualy wants to hit the home and end key and it seems like some programs support it and others treat it as page up and down.

The two main programs that I used in windows than I cannot seem to find a free match in os x are mobaxterm and windiff/winmerge. I am using iterm2 and I think it might meet most of my needs but mobaxterm was laid out right and was slightly easier to use. For windiff I just like how I could do a diff on a whole directory and for winmerge I like how I could just open it and dump text into an new file if I just wanted to a quick check.

I am still playing around with sublime as a replacement for notepad++ and I am liking, might try out atom soon. Figured it would be better for cross platform support.

welp, I have no idea what those are so yea.

I'm on the fence with the Warn 9.5ti I got. Do I just put it on my trailer or do I try to swap it out with the Superwinch LP8500 on my jeep? Part of me wants the nicer winch on the jeep, part of my doesn't wanna swap it since the LP has done me good

so do i put my new gas tank on with the plastic shield in place between the steel skid and tank like stock, or should i leave it off...

hmm

I don't matter, if you keep it off use bicycle tube between the straps and tank to help with chafing

I'd leave it off and use the rubber sleeves from a 97+ tank strap set to keep it from eating into the sheetmetal. Then put on a skidplate
