THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Muscle-Cars-But-no-driveway-Burndogs Thread

Also I still have a huge bucket list of 90's foreign cars I need to own and then get bored with and sell too soon.

-B13 Sentra SE-R
-1992 Integra GS-R (because 1.7 VTEKSSS)
-Volvo 850R
-2000 Integra Type R
-Celica Alltrac
-91/92 Galant VR4
-99/00 Civic Si
-98-00 Impreza 2.5RS
-1995 540i Msport

Then the "supercars"- 300ZX and Supra TT, don't really care for the NSX.

And of course my E36 M3, which sucks and will probably stay that way.
There isn't anything on that list that would even make me reach for free keys across a table.

A Volvo wagon? Sorry Dave. :)

Edit: Well your BMW might be fun to try out.

Meh, to each his own.

Lots of those would outperform most muscle cars from back in the day, be more fun to drive, and a lot more reliable. Crash standards have come a long way to ruin that and won't let you run around in a 2250# Sentra with 140hp with LSD and 4 wheel disc. May not seem like much but that doesn't exist nowadays. Most people don't have a clue what they are, which I also like.

Also, the 850R is a sedan. 250ish HP, FWD, torquesteer mandatory. EDIT: guess there were wagons too, I'd pick the sedan probably.

I am thinking concert.

Gelled?

I tossed in some white bottle PS when I filled up just to be sure. I really only do it when it is going to be below 5F.

thinking battery (min batteries are dead from me cranking this morning) it got cold last night ~7 but i know the batteries have been on the crappy side for a long time

edit: reading 10 v on the batteries

Batteries in the truck seemed fine this morning. Maybe just loose terminals since I know they're shitty.

I haven't put any anti-gel stuff in my truck, nor did I last year. I'm lazy and it hasn't bit me in the ass yet (knock on wood).

Sure, but they just look hideous.

Say goodbye to $400-500 in your pocket.

Oh nice. That's $400-500 to keep in your pocket.
Yeah but your fuel rail pressure is a lot lower too. I'm willing to bet that has something to do with it.

I've never bothered with additives, winter blend diesel already has added anti gel stuff mixed in it and such just for that reason

never had gelling issues either

these batteries that are in there are junk most of the time after starting up the radio resets to 12

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Muscle-Cars-But-no-driveway-Burndogs Thread

any of you guys have commuter cars that get good mileage and aren't boring turds?

Looking to get something soon for a daily driver on my soon to be extended commute to work. I want something reasonably reliable, 25-30+ MPG, but sporty enough to not be boring if i want to drive it that way. $5-7k max. Manual trans option would be a huge plus

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Muscle-Cars-But-no-driveway-Burndogs Thread

Just did batteries on my Dodge last night. Full replacement under warranty from Sears / Diehard. :)

Although even if I had to buy 'em, they're like $100 each. Where's $400-$500 come from?

I've never used any additives either...

Buy my ZHP.

It'll get ~25 MPG mixed driving, 6 speed manual, 235 horseponies, it's propelled by the correct tires, handles damn good.

Platinums were about $250 each last time I looked, the Exide AGMs I bought were $180ish each.

It's like $6.99 for a bottle that does 100 gal. After that time I filled up on the way home from Sam's and it gelled the next morning it is cheap insurance not to when the temps are below freezing. I don't bother any other time.

I thought you wanted more for it.

BMW? hahahaha...no

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Muscle-Cars-But-no-driveway-Burndogs Thread

less about driving, more about fixing when it breaks

I have $1600 into mine in repairs for the last 43k miles, that includes fresh synthetic fluids everywhere, new front wheel bearings, new front brakes (Stoptech/Hawk HPS pads), CCV replacement, water pump, valve cover gasket, and all pulleys and belts replaced. Doesn't include the most recent set of tires I bought, so figure another $500 on top for those and mount and balance.

The car is cheaper in a lot of ways than the Jeeps I've had, and could probably be even cheaper than it has been if I used parts from Autozone/Advance. Wheel bearings were done using BMW and BMW spec (Koyo makes their bearings now I guess) aftermarket stuff, cost around $120 for both sides, for example. Car is also very simple to work on.

The car is awesome you guys, so awesome he'd rather drive a lame ass honda civic with 200k+ miles on it. I don't see why one of you idiots won't buy it.
