It is actually a 71, the previous owner put the wrong year stripe on it. I am gonna fix that.
383 with a 727. 4 or 5 spd to come with engine swap to a bigger big block maybe next winter.

Don't change the stripe is my vote. I HATE the 71 R/T stripes. They look awful on an e-body personally.

I think exactly the way you have it is perfect. Doesn't clutter up the side of the car and makes the body line pop.

Personally I'd just do a 4 spd to start. When/if you want an overdrive, slam a gear vendors behind it. The A833s are much better at power shifting/gear slamming then the Tremecs from what I've seen. Unless you upgrade them to whatever BS, the Tremecs don't like high RPM quick shifts.

1969 Chris Craft Lancer 19. It's was owned friend of my parents' neighbor who is one of the best mechanics I know. Winterized two seasons ago and ran great, hasn't been started since. The guy bought it from the old man a couple years who owned it since '71. Repowered sometime with a newer Volvo setup.

Pretty pumped to use it next summer. Gonna get it good and clean, then cover it until spring. Trailer was shot but had new tires, rollers, crank... Picked up another trailer in great shape for $400 yesterday. Gonna swap it onto the new trailer and bring it home Saturday.

I'm not sure what exactly my plan is for the strips yet. We talked about it a bunch on the way back and I think Adam and I had the same thoughts as you, maybe leave it and do the hood pinstripe letters or blackout. I'm gonna stare at it for a few months first. ;)

Yeah plenty of time to research trans. Can't happen for awhile anyway.

Me too. Then I talked about it with Angel and I want to drive the damn thing. This lets me build a motor and trans on the side while still driving the car. Win win.

Plus NO RUST! Absolutely none. Worth just for that fact, I didn't want to deal with a rusty pile.

Already stopped off at my insurance office this morning so they can run to the DMV. Probably a few days while the title gets processed being a bill of sale and whatnot from out of state.

Sweet!

As Adam and I found out; car trailers are where it is at for boats. Screw a boat trailer. Make sure to put the outdrive toward the vehicle on the trailer for bonus points.

To busy driving. Unless you wanted to see what a nice paved road with no potholes looks like outside of New England it is pretty much the same.
