THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

I have one of each. The wood stove is currently burning without a problem so far, but the house was warm before I started. The coal stove is in a room that always stays cool. Wood is Vermont castings defiant, the old model. No cat no glass. The coal stove is an Iron House, New Castle.

Edit: No, they don't share a flue. Three flues, one for oil.

No. Home inspector said they were clean. Other inspectors I maybe wouldn't trust. This guy was worth his fees. I really think it was the fact that I barely had lit a fire in a room that had no temp differential with outdoors then tried to add more kindling almost immediately. Wood burning is admittedly easier but that's going really well so far tonight. Maybe I'll try the coal tomorrow after this one goes cold.

I Always used dura flame bricks about the size of a bar of soap and burn for 20 mins

House was practically 80 deg F at 930 last night. Woke up, almost completely burned down with some coals. House is still 72.

Hey Adam, what Osram/Sylvania bulbs are you running? Are they 55/70s or something? I need them in 9004 and 9007.

Another Hella 80/100 just shit out yesterday. I'm going to run the lame bulbs that came with the headlamp assemblies for a bit and then order some of the ones you're using.

Hella must have gone way down in quality.

Stock replacements in my Chevy housings and I can see fine.

Only the super purple ones that are on a clapped out 1993 Civic are kool.
They don't count unless the rear drums are painted red.

Osram Rallye 70/65w. My receipt says December 2012, so they've been kicking for quite some time. Philips bulbs are also great if the Osrams don't come in the size you need.

Tell me how they work in another 8 years and after 230k miles

Thanks Adam. I'll check them out. The 40/55w that came with the headlamps are ok but I like the output of the 80/100s

 I know, we've been down that road before. Fact is Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep didn't start turning out decent factory housings until well after the other major players.

Didn't you get some sport front end of something? Does that not include lights?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

Yeah I have the sport headlight housings and honestly the factory bulbs that came with them are fine too. The light output is plenty. I just like having a shitload of light.

The old housings in my truck were faded, yellowed, and letting water in so I couldn't keep a bulb alive for more than a few weeks at a time.

The factory sport headlights on these trucks are actually pretty great. The non sport headlights aren't terrible, but nothing ground breaking.

I didn't think anything from the 90s had great light output :dunno:
