THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

I probably sound like a broken record at this point, but I've just had too many good experiences with the BFG that it's hard for me to justify switching when tires for my truck are easily $1k after mounting/balancing.

Bill, how many miles are on your Coopers and how are they wearing? I'm not against switching, and that article you posted Adam is fairly convincing but doesn't focus on the things that actually matter to me. I'd need to find a tow rig article. I rarely take my truck on any dirt roads. I'm more concerned with wet/dry traction, snow, durability, longevity.

I have almost 10k miles on my load range E AT3s and they show almost zero wear. But at 4200lbs, my truck is probably 1500 lbs lighter than yours though.

So stick with them if you are happy.

I just pulled up my maintenance records and checked my odometer (bonus point for reading this before I came back from another building) I have 21475 miles on them now. They look about just under 1/2 way to the wear bars (so maybe 5/8 of the tread left. I can measure tonight) judging by what I remember. Which means I should hit about the 45K-55K mark on these before I hit the wear bars. Not bad for a truck.

I have $866 into 4 of these balanced and out the door. 265/75/R16 E Load Range.

Try about 3k lbs lighter.

My empty truck on the scales at the dump is at 6900 lbs without me in it.

I'm curious about Bill's experience as I'm sure his truck is closer to mine in terms of weight and usage.

See above.

I wonder what the fuel/ignition systems are comprised of.

These look *really* similar to the LS ignition coils I just used.

Which is because they likely came from Delphi anyway:

actually that is one of the ones used on newer-generation GM stuff.

I just bought another set of tires because I couldn't pass on the deal, 285/70/17 nitto Terra grapplers for $300 in almost new shape. Can't decide if I wanna run them or stick with 265's

Different application, but my Toyo m/t's continue to impress me.

No measurable treadwear yet, you guys know how they work offroad. They are absolutely beast in the snow, even with the autolockers the truck goes right where I point it (given that I'm not taching the shit out of it). Even braking it stays twice as sure footed where my abs equipped car on skinny snow tires did.

at home "sick" today, trying to find a truck, but everything is way overpriced
