That's what I did on red jeep, cut/remove and make a new bracket. Just something simple out of some 3/16, I did the TB and LCA mounts in an afternoon, including removing the axle.

Picked up a frame for the f3shitty. Also I am now renting a shop, any one in the ct area that needs a lift let me know and I can make it happen. So far this month has been pretty good to me.

I think we all know how fast I work, that would be a 3 month project for me. I'm not looking for anything custom, I would actually rather it look as stock as possible so when we sell it shortly no know is like why is there a new bracket on here?

I haven't worked on a D30 in a long time, but I thought I remember there being a bit more room than that. I'm not sure why you'd bother to TIG it unless you don't have a MIG. I'd just try to do like I said and throw some boogers up there on a washer. Even if you only get the bottom half and sides of the washer I'd bet it would be fine.

I wouldn't go the plug weld route. It would be a bitch to grind them down smooth afterwards since the bushing has to fit in there. Drilling out a sleeve in a rubber bushing also blows, so not the best idea there either.

Worst case you're talking cutting off the inner/outer tabs and welding on a whole new bracket.

Glad to see that you haven't changed. Whatever you do just keep overthinking it and wait to fix it until next year and turn it into a year and a half project. Then get 75% of the way done and just let it rot in your backyard.
