tell me why i shouldn't.[/QUOTE]

Shouldn't you be buying a Vincent, Triumph, Norton or similar motorcycle?

Why are you looking at 250's Adam? You're going to get bored quick as just want to upgrade.

eh, although there is some truth to that, i'm kind of over that stage of upgrading and upgrading. i've ridden an older 250 and liked it. i'd prefer something light and small over something with power.

Hipster motorcycle.

yup. thats what i like.

I've looked at 250s before, but I'd certainly never buy one new. The value is pretty much stabilized on the 80's ones so it's pretty easy to buy one, ride it for a while, and resell for pretty much what you paid for it when it's time to upgrade.

I'll say I'm not a very aggressive rider and a 250 would be fine for me, but although I've ridden a lot, I've never had a bike of my own to ride consistently. A season with the same bike every day would probably make me outgrow it.

i've looked at a few "good-excellent cond" honda CBs and for ~1000 bucks more i can get this suzuki new. and i'm sure i can try and find one thats got a few miles on it from a dealer somewhere for cheaper. that and cheap 80s bikes generally need a few hundo in maintenance, and i'm not looking for a project or something that if i forget to tighten and use loctite on will fall out from under me. i like that its new, with FI and a big brake rotor up front.

Shouldn't you be buying a Vincent, Triumph, Norton or similar motorcycle?

oh man, i wish. there is a company building custom bikes, and they have some custom cafe type 250 that is CHEAP new. i can't for the life of me remember the name.

Is Adam THAT much of a hipster, or do you just live too far in the woods?
Probably both, but hey there is a Dunkin Donuts only 10min away so I can't be that far into the woods (at least when I am in MA).

Now if I could only find work around VT...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

15HP? I'd rather pedal a bike. I know not everyone loves to go crazy fast, but that bike is going to be BORING. My 650 Savage made ~25HP and weighed just under 300lb, and my Suzuki GS700 made ~85HP and weighed ~350lb, both were fun bikes, but even the GS was boring after a season. That thing will be terrifying on the highway, without the power to pass people you can get in a bad spot with no way out.

lol @ going on the highway. the drivers here scare me enough when i'm in my truck. this would be commuting (highest speed limit i see is 45) and putzing around.

F working in VT, I did that for four months, and people I worked with were gossipping about others that lived three towns away. It was like one giant HS, and no one gives a shit about actually running a successful business. It was comical in a way.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

Should be 282 lbs (typo).

Also 10.5 kW != 14.8 HP; it's more like 14.3. Half a horsepower is a lot when you've only got that much to work with.

Same with fuel; 15L is more like 3.3 gallons, not 4.

I also like displacement: 229cc (250cc). Like 250cc is the 'english' equivalent.

Apparently this thing gets more badass on the boat ride over here...

3 towns away??? Try hating on people that live 3 states away.
