THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

I recently joined the "Jeep of Mass" FB page for something, but I'm wondering why 90% of the people on there have the "angry eyes" headlights where they put slanted taped to cover the top corner of their lights?

I don't get it, did I miss something that made this so cool?

got my oil pressure gauge working finally. does it make sense that my motor "tops out" at a certain PSI? this morning i started the truck and the gauge went to around 42 and stayed there regardless of RPM, dropped as the motor warmed up. once i was close to work hot idle was 19 and the gauge peaked around 38-39 at 2300 RPM or so.

Makes sense to me. What's the redline on that motor? I'm guessing it's an electronic gauge?

Rule of thumb says 10 psi for every 1k RPMs. Granted your motor probably has a bunch of miles on it so to not be perfect is expected.

My 440 has about 20-30 PSI hot idle (depending if I've been beating on it hard or not). It's usually all in around 2500 RPM or so, and bumps up to about 60-70 PSI IIRC (usually not watching it that intently). Granted my motor is fairly new, but the tolerances were also all on the loose side.

As long as it's not knocking or doing anything weird, I'd probably run it.

there is none. whenever the valves start floating i suppose, apparently around 5500 for a healthy motor. my cam is definitely worn pretty well. its an electronic gauge, ya. its diesels pretty good but what do you want from an old ass v8?

I could weld the collar in place for the cost of a tube of rtv if I find a place to take it apart lol. Bit I don't have a jack for the np241. Either need to find a shop willing to do that for me or a Naxja dude to help out.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

Did you fill it up with enough oil? I fill mine so the static level of the fluid bathes the input bearing.

I should have given you all of my spare 241 stuff. I don't have a use for any of it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

Did you use ATF or gear oil?

I used gear oil when I did mine as there's no more oil pump. I had enough of it laying around and I figured it would "stick" to things better than ATF and lube them.

But I also don't drive mine on the highway.

Find anyone to hook you up yet?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

80/90 weight. I didn't find ANY info on what to run. But I figured there's just gears in there now. So use gear oil lol.

No help yet.

My coworker Tom grew up in Ohio. I asked him if he knew anyone in Columbus. I'll let you know if he finds anyone.
