Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I only have one on my setup. But now I'm sold and will probably be adding another by my muffler, and if I ever go with headers they will be getting them. No gasket needed, super easy removal, doesn't take up much space at all. Just as cheap as flanges.

I used the summit racing house brand.

Sam, just to go back to this, do you think you could get me an OD measurement of the whole setup?

Since I have the headers off, I might cutoff the flanges and weld some vbands on them. Those flanges are a bitch to get to since they're right by the frame.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sam or Bobby, any tips on setting them up to weld? Just curious how you got everything to sit correctly so the flanges would seal correctly. I assume you set everything up in the vehicle and tacked it all in then pulled it for final welding? Everything I've seen says to use super low heat as well to help prevent warping the flanges.

Ordered two 2.5" flanges/clamps for the 5 speed last night, should have everything I need once I get a new cat and some 2.5" piping.

I have no experience with vbands in particular, but what you described is how I did my exhaust.

Set it up on the vehicle, tack weld in about 3-4 spots around the perimeter of the cut, then take it all down and weld it up.

Yes, keep the heat down. Use .023 wire if you can, and don't try to weld the whole thing in one pass. Keep the gaps as tight as you can.

The v band protrudes about 1/2" from the exhaust tubing. So my 3.5" v band is 4.5" in diameter. The tightening mechanism is about .75" from the pipe and the t bolt juts out a bit too.

Assemble the v band, slide over exhaust tubing where you want to mount it, tack weld in place. I have enough room under my truck where I could just weld it all without removal. I used low heat and .030" wire. About .75" at a time on opposing sides.

Bought a new charcoal grill yesterday, tell me why do they need to warn you about not using it inside?

What if its in a cooler?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

there's no warning label on the cooler so totally fine

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

anyone have a recommendation for relatively inexpensive 3 1/2" round LEDs (white) suitable for a bumper application? Must be waterproofed and able to flush mount from the rear
