THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Is it local or on a networked share drive? That's pretty BS. I hate when people start pushing buttons without knowing how badly the button's dick will F you over.

Local, I have administrator rights on this laptop and it lets me change it from read to read/write but changes right back after. It could be how solidworks gets installed through the school, beats the shit out of me.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I could probably save you redoing all that shit if you gave more info.

is the folder in your user directory or in program files?
what windows, home or pro?
are you a local user on a standalone machine or in a domain?

anyway, sometimes the gui for the folder permissions sucks a d, and you need to get acquainted with the xcacls.

edit: and check your ownership. You may not have ownership of the folder. no ownership=no changy permissions.

and it sounds like your It people suck, and you should brain them with a framing hammer.

I already changed the profile so I'm ****ed already anyway. All I wanted to do was add a description to a weldment profile so when I create a bill of materials in a drawing it generates an accurate cut-list automatically. So I had to open up the profile edit, and save it to the desktop then paste it in the correct folder. Then when I switch it over I have to redo the profile alignment and it also ****s up all the mating points in the assembly, even if it's 100% the same. So I just ****ed up my assembly because I need a cut list to give to the metal place because I don't feel like cutting all this shit by hand. I'll just re-do the assembly later.

Someome at 4 wheel parts dropped the ball. The guy I know dropped them off at the shipping table Thursday and they shipped today. They'd be in and done today is someone just did their job.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yea 4wheel parts sucks. It took forever for me to get the correct leaf pack. And by the time I got it I realized I couldn't use them anymore.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

****, 9am and I'm already bored at work. I have nothing to do here today. I really hate when this happens. Boredom is the worstest.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yep, never had anything take longer than two days from Summit. Class act for sure.

Off topics...anyone have experience with Powerline ethernet stuff? My in-house router doesn't reach the garage so I was looking at that as an alternative.

My incoming bandwidth is 50 mbps and I don't have any streaming media servers or that kinda crap, so I need nothing fancy...if it works as advertised, where I can plug it in near my router, hook an ethernet cable to it, and plug another box in out at the garage and have WiFi for at least one or two devices, that'd be fine.

Soo...brands? Recommendations? Don't mind spending a little extra $$ on something that I know is going to work outta the box.

The garage has its own breaker off the main panel but I think that's fine; I believe it's only if it has to go through a meter/transformer/etc that the network signal gets f'd up?

yes, theyre meh, and the signal drops over longer runs. there isnt any way for you to run cable from your house to the garage? how far away is the garage from the house? IMHO, get the cheapest/highest rated pair from amazon or newegg. dont spend more than 40-50 bucks. spend your money on a good AP so you can configure it to the same SSID but different channel than your house wifi so your device doesnt have to do anything different to connect.
