I got hungry at the shop so I went to go grab some food. Place I went to was closed so I went to the next open place up the street. I don't know what kind of food it is. The menu was all in some other language and the lady at the counter didn't speak a word of english. I just kept pointing at stuff and she would point at stuff and say "FIVE DOLLEH, TEN DOLLEH?" Anyway this food rocks, I think it's some kind of hispanic, maybe DB Dave's girlfriend can make me some.

I'd say poop through the sunroof but it probably doesn't work and is permanently sealed shut with duct tape to prevent leaks :anon:

so I got my jeep home. looks like jordan pulled the distributor to replace it and never did and I dont know its position when he pulled it out. so now what

do I just put the cyl 1 TDC by feeling through the spark plug hole then make sure the timing notch is at 0 then instal the dist. with the rotor pointed at wire no.1?

That would be my first try. The distributor will engage a notch internally, so as long as you're "close" I think it should find its home ok. Worst comes to worst it runs like shit or not at all and you try again? I have to do this to my engine too.

Swap the motor

I do have a spare motor with the distributor already in the correct position.

cry, then scrap the jeep.

Seriously though, turn the engine over with a breaker bar with your thumb over the #1 plug hole. If it tries to build pressure, you're on #1 compression stroke. Feel through the plug hole with a screwdriver (carefully of course) till you get it at TDC compression, then time the engine as you would normally.
