Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Also, I went to the new Wegman's in Chesnut Hill last night, so now I have half of a buf chix finger sub in the Jeep waiting to be demolished. Haven't got one since Syracuse days.

You bought only a half sub or did you eat half the sub before you got to the checkout line

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

neat, but should've held out for a combat wombat.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm not an engineer, so I'm not going to try to pretend I know what I'm talking about here, except for the fact that the AX-15 is much heavier towards the rear, and that the mount sits directly under the majority of the weight. I'd agree that the motor is heavier towards the rear, especially with the flywheel/clutch/pressure plate all bolted up. I'm not sure how that matters, though, because everything *should* be functioning as one structure, based on how it's bolted together.

It is definitely much heavier towards the rear, but when I let one hang out under a jeep with the 231 hooked to it and shit, it was definitely hanging down at the front. Kinda surprised, since a 231 is actually heavier than an ax15 iirc, but that's how it worked out...

I agree that it *should* act as one structure, but I think somehow I keep finding the weak point and breaking it in half. So I am thinking up ways to strengthen that part.

Not sure why, since as noted Chris beat the tar out of this drivetrain without breaking bellhousings, but somehow, I'm breaking them.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Every wheeled 4.0 xj should have brown dogs or equivalent IMO.

The last mounts you will ever buy, they don't break, bellhousings prefer them, they last longer than two months, and you can always sell them for nearly what you paid if you ever get out of wheeling.

agreed. Hopefully mine will be getting installed tonight or tomorrow. Can't wait.
