THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You better hurry because if I'm bored next weekend I'm gonna drag all my scrap to the yard, and it's going too :gee:

Cleaning up the yard a bit, and the scrap pile has to go.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's the one percenter scrap pile, shits worth a mint!

The iron scrap pile is worth like probably a six pack of pbr. Maybe. If I'm lucky.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Don't want to learn things about pirate members dicks, don't read threads about dicks on pirate!

(now Pat is definitely gonna read it)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Wow. I did not need to read that either.

Thank you Chris?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

also Sebastian loeb finally retired. so now the WRC has a chance to be competitive. and some other french asshole named Sebastian ogie is winning every ****ing race. WTF?! WRC is dead to me.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Made my dipstick locking with a quick release pin. Works mint off the MJ. We'll see if it keeps it from catching on fire again.

Started welding up an overflow for my radiator from some extra shit I had laying around. Also got some Edelbrock shocks for free from Dundy for the rear of the MJ since I won't have any shocks for the back now and don't want to spend money on anything.

Kate had her wedding shower on Sunday. Got so much stuff. Also, the bridesmaids bought us a honeymoon in Vermont. Looks awesome.

Sweet.

More bling than ProFender anyway.

In Chittenden right? That's a nice area.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah Chittenden. Supposedly horseback riding and whatnot in the area and it's right on a lake I think. I didn't get to spend much time checking it out last night. Looks awesome though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Dave, you sold me this NP231 w/SYE for the right price. I'm not blaming you for this at all, and I'm quite happy with the price I got, but whoever put this thing together was a chimpanzee of a mechanic. :gee:

They managed to break a chunk off the fluid pump right where the pickup tube goes in, so rather than use an O-ring they gobbed RTV everywhere.

The rear output yoke nut was barely past hand tight.

The extension housing bolts were cranked down to a billiondy foot pounds and one was rounded. I had to use a chisel to spin it free.

The main housing bolts were alternately hand-tight and tightened to a billiondy foot pounds.

They also seem to have interesting ideas on how to apply RTV, both in quantity and application accuracy.

At this point I think I'm just gonna tear the SYE out of it (already did, actually) and put it in the MJ at some point, unless the XJ needs it first. The rest of the case is going in the spare parts pile, if you ever need anything, it's free.

PS: I had no idea that any NP231J was synchronized, thought that was NP241s only. There's a giant brass synchro in this thing on the mode hub.

I can't take any credit for the assembly, sadly. I probably had that in the 5.9 for a week max before I got a new 231 from Colin994. Glad the SYE was still good- you figure out what brand it is?

I worked in Brandon for about 4 months at one of my previous accounts- not much to do in that area, but Middlebury is close, and you're not far from the Long Trail brewery.

I have absolutely no idea yet. I'm guessing about the same as the rest I've ever installed... it has the yoke style not the flange style rear output so probably not an RE? I'm guessing an AA based on the yoke and rear housing design, but not sure.

Is that the sye 231 pat/Dave bought off me a few years back?
