how much would you guys think would be a fair price for a 2000 xj with 195k on it that miss fires and burns oil, fairly rust free (i.e. rockers are still solid) and bad bushing every where.

its my brothers and he just got a new car so this needs a new owner. i am also thinking of just taking it for myself and just swap over my parts from the 2001

the frame on mine has seen better days due to the fact that my frame stiffeners are just chilling in my shed i doubt i will buy it but of course i have that little devil dancing in my head

speaking of stiffeners i'm buying some this week. All 3 sections really necessary or just the middle? Do rear ones really do much?

Mids are good if you smash it off rocks often, fronts are good for the steering box/ track bar area. And all of them are also great for mounting stuff to.

If you do the front at least plate the bottom of the rails too. Its kinda pointless IMO just adding one plane of steel up there.

Rears are definitely the least critical but a completely plated frame is still no match for a cage as far as keeping the unibody together is concerned.

Skip the rear stiffeners unless you plan on adding shock hoops or something in the rear. Gives you something to mount them to.

Start saving for a cage if you want the body to last.
