Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i aint worried about power, they just sound cool or i should just spring for a viper motor, they cant be that exspensive

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha

They are like 2-3k on carpart. More if you want one not described as a core only.

Believe me, I checked. Because the only thing dumber than a 5.9 street driven mj is a viper v10 street driven mj.

The alloy and iron block v10s have different bh patterns for some reason, too. I forget which will bolt to what.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Someone give me an nv4500.

I think I read somewhere that an sm465 and nv4500 are the same length (+ 3/8") and have the same tranny mount location (and use the same trans mount). I just don't want to spend a dime on a bell housing and clutch setup that I can't use with an nv. i could in theory just run the sm465 that's sitting in my garage and bolt in the 4500 when I can afford it If it really does measure the same as a 465.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Let's see:

- I'm not parting it out to buy a Honda.
- I'm not parting it out to buy a VW.
- I'm not selling it to buy a 1/2ton Chevy.
- I'm not selling it to rebuild my Duramax.
- I'm not not putting it back together and don't drive a Grand Am.
- I'm not parting it out to buy a Land Rover.
- I'm not planning on parting it to build a buggy.

I think I got them in order too.

Definitely not in order, I wasn't the first person in that list of things. And I never parted mine out, it was broken and not worth repairing.

And I have zero complaints about it too :). When it is time to move on, it's time to move on.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Mine won't be ready by nacfest. I'm so broke right now I can't spend a dime on the jeep. And its going to take a while to build up a good buffer/house money again.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I hear ya.

I'm probably going to spend most of my time at NACfest doing some engine tuning.

I really need to spend more time getting it all dialed in.

THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

As much as I regret selling mine, there were too many things I didn't like how I did on it and I didn't want to redo. I am however very glad I bought my half ton chevy.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's like 99 percent of my jeep. Stuff I don't like how I did it. And the other 1percent are trail fixes that I will never fix properly.

X2 I'd love to swap a manual in my 5.9 ZJ but I'm just going to say eff it and build the shi out of my spare 46RE and find a good t case (D300?) to put behind it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Like I've said before, I considered my MJ a big learning experience. I learned a TON building it.

That being said, I know mostly what I want in a buggy now. Doesn't necessarily mean it will come out perfect either, but I have 0 motivation to work on the MJ at this point.

Difference is other people still come around. :wantyou:

Better than 1/2ton Dodge.

I hear you. I built the closed in for the odd months that were cold and raining and while it is nice it may have been cheaper to do a buggy. Sure easier packaging I would think.

I like how caged bodies look. When it still resembles the original truck. Colin's MJ still looks like one. With doorskins and a nicer hood. I'd probably also want a lexan windshield and back window of sorts. Keep me dryer and cleaner.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Its great when your rig keeps you dry. But when no one else's rig does you still can't wheel in snow and rain cause no one wants to come with.

F&f is a slop fest all year. I've only seen it dry once. And that's about the only place I'd be wheeling so staying clean and dry there would be spiffy. I don't like to get my struggle snuggle partner dirty.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Holy hell you guys are a bunch of whiners.

Ever since I knocked the windshield out of my XJ, I've never wanted to wheel anything with a windshield ever again. And yes that includes a bunch of snow runs at Rausch, some in well below freezing temps, and many wet/nasty days & obstacles.

Wtf are you talking about? You haven't wheeled anything
