THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My cousin has a side business replacing iPhone screens. Its not that hard to do. I think he said the 4 is a little harder to do. But doable by some one who's not a total waste of life.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

might pick up a buddy's 00 XJ with 179k after mine is all gone.. has a BB and a hanson front bumper... dark blue. i really would love that with some AEV bridger wheels and BFGs with the white letters out.. but those wheels are impossible to find. maybe i'll get some rotas...
Maybe it is because I've had a few beverages but is anyone else wondering why Adam is being dumb selling his chassis only to start over again?

Dude, IMO, if you are going to get another rig it doesn't make sense to get rid of yours when you know the history and the potential issues for something you know nothing about.

On that note; care to do the artwork for the NAC shirt again? ;)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'll do the art, no problem.

not getting a rig, stock or VERY mild XJ. i really just want a reliable 4wd.. hell, im looking at yotas too. looking to spend around $3k.

Drinking on a Tuesday Bill? Get it together!

EDIT: What decent Yota are you going to find for cheap? Older 4Runner?

Moreso just wondering what about your current one doesn't fit this.

For now I want something with a jeep logo on the front that's clean and reliable that will be my trusty steed for the next few years.

If there's something that *isn't* reliable on your current one, it's because you didn't put it together right and you're planning on selling someone else your problems. Caveat emptor. Those components in OEM form are totally meant for a vehicle of that weight, with those tires. The fact that you wheel it only occasionally means any above-and-beyond maintenance will be just as few and far between.

We have over 150,000 miles on the Cummins Bronco with your same front axle, 37" military tires, and we've done maybe one set of wheel bearings and maybe one set of balljoints. And a ****ton more abuse and weight over the front end.

Clean? Fix the fenders. Done.

For the short term gain of what, a grand or two? To be then spent on upgrades and fixing shit you don't yet know about on whatever 15 year-old piece of iron you end up with?

I don't see it either.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i didnt say my XJ wasnt reliable. its worth over $10k in parts (over half of that is pretty much sold) and it isnt (wasnt) done being built. i didnt like that it wasnt done, and it also got 12mpg doing 60mph on the highway, 8-10 around town.

i want the extra cash now, i wont be building a wheeling rig for the forseeable future. idk why thats so hard to understand for some people.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

12mpg doing 60mph on the highway, 8-10 around town.

Which is less than a $40 difference on a 400-mile trip (assuming the new pile gets over 17 MPG consistently).

People are flaky. Until you have cash in hand I wouldn't bet the farm just yet.

At least you'll have a bunch of cool parts left over for the next one. :wave1:
