THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

He was talking about Bill being first and last yesterday I think.

Damn it's cold. Another few months of this...

... and a friend of mine offered me his old forced hot water furnace for FREE this summer when he replaces it. Just needs a new blower. So I guess I'll put that in, rejet it for natgas, and run it till I feel like spending money on a better one. $2600 in spending delayed.

The bum drum heating system isnt a feasible long term option?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

did you get the 8.8 out too? or is that all thats left

All stripped, then we cut a hole in the roof and dropped the engine through it. We put the hood under the rear end upside down like a sled and dragged it out back. Looks pretty much the same as it did except shorter.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Funny question, how much would you want for the engine? A friend of mine needs one bad, that tan YJ that wheeled with us last spring. It's getting some rod knock with the 94 XJ motor we threw in it from Billy, I think whoever sold it to him put motor honey in it first because I KNOW he didn't change the oil :spin1:

Price was still unbeatable, not pissed about it in the least since just the harness and ECU were worth what my buddy ended up paying, but it needs a new motor before it windows the block.

I have a relatively new NG-fired hot water baseboard system you can have if you come get it. Including whatever radiators & stuff you'd be able to use (they're the big standing cast-iron type). 60-gallon NG water heater as well. Both are passive venting if that matters in your case (my basement ceiling isn't high enough to get the proper angles on the ducting ventwork).

I just got my coal stove fired up again tonight...holy ****. I'd gotten used to the 64* setpoint on my NG thermostat; now that room is 72* and the room where the stove is is holding at *75+. I just had to relocate til the fans get some of this stuff circulated.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I may be interested in the furnace and radiators (thanks! I definitely owe you if I pick those up) but I already have a 1 year old fullsize water heater, fortunately. The house came with one, it had a 9 year warranty and the damn thing blew out the liner around this time last year, so I got a new one for free and its warranty sticker says it is good through sometime next decade. I don't plan on still owning this house by then, I hope to have moved to NH :laugh2:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'll try and get some model numbers & pics next time I'm over at the old place. It's probably all gonna get scrapped otherwise.

Might also have available a NG freestanding fireplace (looks like a woodstove), I used it to heat the whole house for many seasons.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sounds like a fun time.

Brought the MJ up yesterday along with some more tools (torch, bandsaw, drill press) and some other parts. Travis came along for the ride and then Justin came by too to check out the house and unload.

I was surprised at how well the MJ fits in the garage. Should have a decent amount of room to do the rear 4 link.

I unloaded in the middle of the street since backing the trailer up the driveway is a PITA with the big rocks/tree hugging the trailer. Just driving the MJ like 200 ft makes me want to go wheeling so bad again.

Would it be worth putting a ball in frt or was it easy backing up unloaded

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It's easy enough to back up unloaded.

The rocks are small enough I'm just gonna use the winch on my MJ to move them out of the way, and buzz the small trees down.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm gonna have the house to myself spring break gonna finish up mine then.
