THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

im not building a wheeling rig, im buying a comfortable DD jeep that can take me offroad better than a stock XJ/ZJ/TJ whatever if i want to go.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So you have a built keep that you can drive on the street without issue and you want to get rid of it for one that's less capable/dependable that will do the same

my jeep is absolutely no where near as comfortable or practical on the road as a stock WJ... which is where my XJ currently lives 95% of the time. if i lived up closer to you guys and could wheel more often i wouldnt be selling it. i can get more money for my XJ whole or parted than i can buy an overland WJ for, so i will profit a couple grand too... which is something i need to do.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Understandable.

But I loved driving my XJ everyday. Drove wonderfully on the highway at 80, had remote start, A/C, etc. Honestly wouldn't have been any happier with a WJ. Bigger/bulkier and more shit to go wrong with it.

I miss that thing.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

if i built my XJ differently i'd still keep it. i wish i just replicated my old one and added selectable lockers staying on 33s. the idea with this is to come out ahead money wise while buying a jeep i'd be happy with.

i wont be happy w a stock XJ/TJ
YJs are mostly rotted/overpriced/junk... very few stock ones.
CJs in good shape are still 30 year old carb'd tin boxes.

Exact reason I sold mine. It was cool. I COULDVE ran it on the road. But I wanted something nicer. And I never wheeled it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

When I graduate I'm buying myself 5 33" creepies and I'm going to personally carry my honcho on my back to the nearest volcano and throw it in. Then take my creepies and smash them on to whatever stock rims are on whatever shitbox four wheel drive vehicle at my dads shop that still runs. I'm going to wheel 10 times a day and when I'm not wheeling I'll be egging all of your houses and shitting on your lawns.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

lol which is why i'm selling mine. if i wheel 3 times a year im lucky. i think im over the whole cj/yj/tj thing... been looking at overland WJs. theyre like the rubicon of the grand cherokee.

I'm going to agree with you and DB Dave, the overland would be a sick dd that you could still cruise the beach, class IV's or whatever with. Probably what I'll look for when the XJ dies.

What do you *realistically* think you can get out of yours?

Once you sell one thing that makes it not drive anymore, what's the plan in the interim few months it takes to sell the rest of it?

as a whole? i dont think what im asking is an obscene amount. i wont post what my bottom line is but the 9500 im asking is more than certainly negotiable. in 2 weeks or so if i have no serious offers it goes on ebay, with my bottom line as the reserve. if it still doesnt sell it gets parted. i dont need a car in the interim period since i have my work car. if it turns out that i end up sitting on half of the high dollar parts for 6 months i'll re-evaluate. hopefully that isnt the path i end up going down.

Unless you want to settle for a super high mileage example WJ, I don't see you coming out too far ahead in this.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i saw plenty of 100k-130k WJ overlands on CL in nice shape for ~$5k

Those are in the $6-7k range around here it seems. Pretty easy to buy something that's 10 years old and find $1k worth of problems/maint needed too.

That being said, if you can find a decent one and make it work, I'd say go for it. The vehicle you'd be getting into is still a couple years newer than your XJ.
