THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was planning on subframe connectors regardless, stock wheel wells and SS rims with plain jane radial car tires. It was mono leafs out back, at a minimum its getting new multi leafs and like caltracs or some sort of traction bar. I'm aiming for 450ish HP on motor, might add a little spray or forced induction. Its going for more sleeper pro touring, stock exterior/interior looks with under the hood being the only give away. I'll probably buy a custom front subframe too with coil covers/ rack and pinion stuff. I gotta price out rear suspension to decide if maybe I should just 4 link the rear.

seems like you might as well sell your jeep too... lol

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

are you serious??? WELL worth tens of thousands to wheel 3 times a year!

lol which is why i'm selling mine. if i wheel 3 times a year im lucky. i think im over the whole cj/yj/tj thing... been looking at overland WJs. theyre like the rubicon of the grand cherokee.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Grand Cherokees have to be the worst Jeeps ever built.

Well JCW is refunding my arb order. I didn't see that coming!

I have EQ monster magnum heads on my niner. They are iron but have ss 2.02/1.65 valves and are ported. I love millers zj but they put an insane amount of money into that thing. I hope that 408 stays cool and the 46re can handle it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So wait, we tore open that AW4 so you could sell your cherokee for a WJ with a crap transmission? :moon:

since when is the last time you heard me bItch about owning 3 money pit vehicles? I do plan on selling either the Jeep or the Nova though when I go to buy a house, but I'm not too worried about it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think they said something about running a 48RE.

I would love aluminum heads for my motor, but I don't have that kind of cash right now. I think it's something like $800 for the set and I'd just reuse my valves/springs and whatnot. I'd also love to stroke it at the same time, but that would just equal more money since I'd be exploding shit all the time at that point.

I feel like whatever HP I'm at right now is a good compromise of reliability and power.

48RE guts. Which is the drum and bands and a few extra clutch disks. I broke the sprag (over running gear) in mine and I guess it's a common break on Offroad used 46REs since it's a press in design and it can spin inside the housing. TCI makes a bolt in upgrade for the 727 that keeps it from spinning. I'm hoping that it will work on the 46RE.

...minus all the stuff that makes a Rubicon actually capable, and plus a lot of luxury bullshit that does exactly the opposite.

Errr what? That was the most capable Grand Cherokee built to that point, and about as offroad ready as you could get. Upcountry package in 02 and 03, semi-functional sliders, vari-lok's, full skids, and recovery points. Not to mention you could buy two decent ones for the price of a beat TJ Rubi.

Same thing on my motor, but I doubt mine are ported. The PO didn't really feel like telling me much about the Jeep.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

vari-lock front and rear diffs beg the differ. and how does an interior make a car less capable?

The Vari-Lok is an awful differential (only servicable as a case assembly). The the wacky differential plenum is wacky.
The NV247 is an awful transfer case. Oh, it has more than 90K miles? Needs a progressive coupler ($800 + the mopar specific fluid).
The driveshaft CV's fail and cause vibrations frequently.
The 4.7L Engine is known for having weak connecting rods and are notorious for consuming oil.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh yeah their awesome rear upper control arms suck too.
