THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The mechanic I used to work with used to put kerosene in with diesel in the winter in all the equipment and trucks to lower the gelling temp, you'd have to look up the same ratio but we never had an issue in the 8 years I worked there

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Truck said -14 this morning when I got in to warm it up and head to work. Made noises I have never heard a Hemi Ram make before...

Lots of gelled up/frozen trucks at work today, gunna be a long saturday.

3 of the 5 trucks I'm operating out of one of my locations were frozen up this morning, despite running them for the past ~30 hours. Spent a few hours on the phone this morning getting nowhere.

I bet you get fired, develop a bad drug habit and come visit me at work, we have wheelable land

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My cherokee was pissed off this morning but did crank just fast enough to start.

had truck plugged in for 3 hours, fired up no issu, 5 seconds later it died, cranked for like 10 seconds ran for 5 seconds died again, cranked again for 10 seconds and now its running. sounds like possible gelling issues?

You jelly bro

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It was cold last night? No plug, no additives, no problems. Cranked over just as fast as normal and cranked right up. 12valver for life!!!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just the plastic piece, but artec has something similar for a fraction of the price. I like the ballistic lca/shock/coil bucket combo

I saw the artec piece. currently backordered and they don't come with a flat round plate to support the coil or anything to retain it.

Not going with ballistic again. Not what I'm looking for exactly. I have 10 degree lower link mounts I'm using and going to be running a truss from c to c, so making something meant to go on a round tube will just be a waste. These will mount on top of the truss, which will only be a little bit away from the axle tube at the ends anyway.

Looks like Clayton wins.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You gonna be running a off the shelf xj/zj coil?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i have the ballistic mounts and used a piece of 3" exhaust tube for a bottom retainer. works mint.

also, fixed my windows. one of the giant ass connectors was unplugged. in the process of trying to fix it i broke the passenger side door handle, burnt my fingers with electricity trying to jump connections, and ripped all the previously ghetto-fixed door lock connection on the pass side out and shorted them out, and got really cold wasting about 2 hours total time.

im dumb. also, my heater core is clogged... lower hose is cold, upper hose hot. poop.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Nick came up to check out my house and wire up my generator outlet for me.

He also added a welder outlet for me in the garage as well. Mint.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Backflush that heater core, then order a new one so you have it on hand when the core explodes a month later.

Honestly though if you've pulled an XJ dash before you can probably get a heater core done in well under 4 hours. I did it in that long and it was the first time I'd ever had a 97+ dash out of the car.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yay I have heat again. Blower motor lasted 282,000 miles of use so I guess I can't complain that it died...just that it died right before a snowstorm.

120V or 240V? Or everything still on the dryer? ;)

It's like a heat wave outside now. We just broke into double digits 10 degrees F.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Tub trap unfrozen, mixture valve unfrozen/cleaned out, toilet bowl unfrozen, toilet tank unfrozen... now I can take a damn shower

and then go to HD and buy a new core for the mixture valve (the plastic cracked a little at the oring seat, so it trickles water constantly) and some damn heat tape for the trap
