OMG YES IT'S GONNA BLOW UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

I'm worried the owner doesn't know what SCA's are. I don't wanna buy the truck then have it shit the bed. It's not to bad it has some rust but seems like it will make a good dd and will be alright for me to tow with. I know it's gutless and it's not the cummins I'm used to.

92 4x4 tow package. And it's an auto. Do I need to worry about it? Thanks for that info I don't have a problem with doing brake lines.
Also what kinda mpg are you getting?

Hey that isn't bad mpg the one I'm looking at is a super cab long bed. It has a banks exhaust. Nothing to fancy but it works. I am going to look at it I think for a cheap tow rig it will work.
How's the power better than a Xj on 33s? If so that's all I need.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You don't have to worry about the SCA levels as much because medium duty diesels like the 7.3 aren't lined motors. Meaning the cylinder is part of the block, not a replaceable "tube" like larger engines. The cavitation occurs mainly in the liners when SCA levels are too low because they are surrounded by coolant. Basically, don't worry about that. Check your oil pan, they tend to rot and are a bitch to replace.

Also weren't you just crying suicide a week ago because you couldn't get a job? Why the **** are you buying another vehicle that's 20+ years old? All it's going to do is empty your wallet and you certainly don't need a tow rig for an XJ on 33's. Or are you going tons again???

Started working another machine shop gig. Not half bad reasonable hours decent pay. I also inherited some money. I have 3k to play with and want to get a reasonable ride that I'm not wheeling. And if rather not get something gas. My aunt and uncle had a 7.3 that they loved and got 250k out of so I am tempted to go for one.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Did you win the lottery or is the xj still available for a couple hundred bucks??

Yeah you could say I hit out ok.
$11 an hour in a good job. And some good money in my lap. Already ordered the parts. That's left over afterwords. My dad is taking the truck for the winter. So I don't wanna be rocking the Xj all winter it kicks ass in the snow but it's not exactly what I want. I want something I can haul stuff with gets 15+mpg high way and isn't eating though front axle parts like a whore goes through condoms. Also Pat thanks for the info that is what I needed to know. It seems like that is one of the Internet issues. Not as common as they make it out to be.

Your grandpa die or something? What better way to honor one's death than by taking the money they entrusted you with and blowing it on garbage.

I'm not sure how to make fun of you for that, but I'm sure I'll come up with something.

I need a phrase that's better than top notch to describe the advice you give on a daily basis. You're a ****ing genius kid.

I didn't earn the money?
I'm on a noob, so what machines did they use to make parts similar to what an edm does before they were around?

Depends on what you're talking about. EDM is slow as dick from the machines I've seen and not cost effective for a lot of reasons. So even now you really only see them being used when some other machine couldn't make it. Like really small accurate work stuff that would be hard to do with traditional machining. You're thinking of when they were talking about making square holes and there are better ways. Like I said you generally try not to use EDM for anything that can be done another way, pretty much.

I see that they are slow as dick. But I mean for a job like cutting a series of .050 slots into a die.
It makes sense to only use them when needed. But seeing what one can Do got me thinking.
