THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Having moved Carmelos 8 lug D44 and my 8 lug D60, both were pretty damn close to equal.

Found a shipping weight (per CK5) for an 8 lug front 44 - 415 pounds on a pallet.

Shipping weight for a kingpin 60 - 518, no pallet.

So I guess it's not 150 heavier, but it sure isn't that close either.

Bullshit :moon:

And mine wheel even less than yours!!! I might throw new batteries in the thing and take it for a spin around the block one of these years.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I don't think Rob has a trussed D60.

Either way, I don't think it's impossible for him to get under 5k lbs.

ya, not impossible. my 44 is trussed so it probably would be close to a stock 60's weight. if i went back to do it all again i'd be running a waggy 44 with a jana gearset and a fully dressed 8.8 out back.

Or just run the 60.

Not sure why you're so opposed to it.

I wouldn't do the waggy. If I were to do it again for 35+ I'd build my front the same but narrowed and sans the truss with a super 88 out back.

But I would run what I had when I was on 33's in a second. I would've been happier than a pig in shit if I just reworked the suspension.

I feel like if I went waggy/8.8 it would have cost a lot less. Whatev, it's done.

Anyway, progress came to a halt today...

Gotta take the bracket off, cut out a relief and reinforce the empty space from the bottom. Ita pretty close to fitting right now but I'm just grinding down weld at this point, not much strength left in the bracket.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just had a job interview go very well.

6 day work weeks. No vaca time for the first year. Harder work, but big whoop.

Money, bennies, and perks are there tho.

Everyone tell me I'm stupid to get hung up on the long weeks and lack of vacation if I get offered the job

yea that's my plan eventually also (jana54 + Super88), except with a cut down Ford HP44 & Waggy Shafts

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Why did you run that combo? It seems like a kick dick combo but not that common of one.

Another independent shop? Somewhere else? Automotive?

The two things I didn't like with that set up was the width and lack of gearing options. I would've liked 5.13/5.38 and ideally an arb in place of the rear Aussie.
