Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Heater core yes, blower motor I don't think so. I did the blower motor on my 93 through the engine bay... 3 bolts took 45 mins or so
trying to pull everything, just got the big hvac thing 2 of the studs are just spinning, trying to smash it apart now

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

between the hvac stuff, heatercore, blower motor, dash and wiper stuff jeep lost 55-60lbs, i was excited about getting rid of wait till i remembered i just installed a winch. gotta figure out where else to loose wieght, sugestions?

I'm sure you could go wheeling in your birthday suit. That would probably save a few pounds.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Use the bathroom before you wheel. Don't forget to puke either. Should save a few pounds.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Thinking either the SYE or something in the 231 in the 5.9 might be junk. Making a lot of noise and has some vibes on the highway. Felt the output when I got to work today and it was too hot to leave my fingers on it for very long. Sucks because the PO built a pretty beefy driveshaft (1330 joint at the TC, 1350 at the axle) that I just paid to get shortened/balanced, and at this point, it's probably easier for me to find a 231 and go back to a stock driveshaft.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Concerned about weight?

Lose all the sheetmetal/plating and start with tube.

I have no idea what it weighs now but I hope to get it under 5k. Roof is going behind the b pillars and there will be nothing but a cross member behind the rear coils. I wonder if I could get away with a 1/8 wall 2x5 box crossmember

Is there any fluid in the case...?

You keep forgetting that you basically have one tons without the strength.

Not much weight difference between a D44 chunk and shafts. You already have 8 lug outers.

I don't remember you guys setups much, but I'd be surprised if Robs weighed that much more than yours. Though I'm not sure how heavy his tires are.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have like 3 hours to decide if I want to bid on a bridgeport. Same size as ross's but the square column, varispeed and power x feed.

Factor in that the late models weigh more to start and I now have zero interior crept for seats and a steering wheel I think its very much doable

Having picked both up/wrestled them across the yard in the last 9 months I'd say a d60 weighs at least 150 more, but there was a lot of rust weight reduction on the 8 lug 44 I had. A 60 chunk and tubes are probably 25% heavier than a 44hd one if I had to throw a guess at it, and 60 knuckles/inner Cs are pretty significantly heavier too.

Never seen one, I thought it was strapped to the ABS HCU or under the back seat.

Having moved Carmelos 8 lug D44 and my 8 lug D60, both were pretty damn close to equal.
