THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'll throw in another $20 if Nicole wants to go. And I'll have plenty of hard liquor he can get in on, so drunkenness won't be an issue. And a free ride.

Keith, sorry to fuel the fire, but really. Free ride and don't have to pay to be there? C'mon fella

I'll add all the .308 you guys can shoot if you work out a 50yrd+ range day somewhere in there. Unlimited .22LR as a bonus.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Keep me posted.

I'd like to zero in at 100 yrds (I have the custom-dial Leupold scope so that'll make future adjustment easy) but moreso I need to get the windage right; if I can at least get it shooting down a straight line then I can figure it out from there. Although long ranges in NJ are few and far between.

Just picked up another 100 rds from Cabela's over the weekend so I've got a good stockpile of target ammo to run through (600+). Between that and 2500 rds of .22 I think it's an OK offer to make.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You think 2500 rounds of .22 is unlimited? I pity you...

Im not a member in pelham anymore, so idk if I can help very much there. Maybe we can ask Bob how he feels about adding a shooting range to the facilities :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The house Kate looked at in Amherst, NH looks pretty sweet and she said it was in really good shape (also has an oversize 2 car garage). We're going to add that to the list of houses we want to go see this coming Sunday. Going to sit down with a mortgage company as well and get a better idea of payments, interest, etc.

Saturday I have to throw new bearings in my brother's 8.25. Hopefully that goes smoothly. Have to make another tool for those carrier adjuster rings.

Also, debating if I should just buy some more fox bumps for the rear. At $300, I think I should just bite the bullet now before all the house stuff.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Colin, wanna do 99? I got some of those brake caliper things for you too

I actually bought a few but thanks. They were only like $2 for a set of them and I had to order some filters for my truck.

Not sure if I'll be able to do the 99 this week. Maybe Thursday. I still have to wash my truck, finish washing the jeep, clean up my tools, and put away my tent/do laundry.

I'll let you know though.

I could really go for some roast beef, just sayin

Maybe in a few months, my commute on 95 is close enough to justify this right??

Awesome! If you need someone else or want a pair of eyes that doesn't have a stake in it let me know.

FYI, mine is an "oversize 2", in my eyes.

Also, still a lot for sale just down the road from me and I know a good builder... start 100% new. Nudge Nudge... :D

I'm laughing (and I am sure Chris and Ken are too) at "all the house stuff".

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Thanks dude. Yeah Kate took pics of the garage and it's definitely not as big as yours, but it's more than fine for what I need.

Yours is a 4 car garage to me

I have 0 desire to build a house. I spend enough time on my jeep/racing and that's where I like to spend it. I'm fine with fixing/updating things but I have 0 desire to go out and start new. And we're pretty much dead set on moving to NH :D

I just meant closing/moving costs and anything that needs fixing/updating. We also have to live about a year on my salary alone since Kate won't be able to get a real career job until about a year from now. Should be fine, but not sure how many PA trips I can handle next year.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My next place will be on a billion acres and there's no way in hell it won't be in NH.

And I'm building it myself and doing it right, enough dealing with other idiot's mistakes. You never know what kind of moron built the place if you buy it with drywall included.

edit: oh here are some videos that are changing my opinion on properties with no flat spot for an airstrip

and the best one

These maniacs have bigger tires on their airplanes than I have on my jeep, those are 35s iirc.

Lol.

Take that number, add in whatever buffer you think is good. Then double that whole amount and throw another 10% in and you might be getting close.

P.S. my 30x30 "oversize 2 car" is going to be just enough for 1 project. Hope you don't plan on actually using it to park cars and stuff or you're going to spend half your project time just moving shit around. :)

A 4? HAHAHAAHA! Even Angel would laugh at that.

But seriously if you want someone else to look over it let me know we ain't that far, but I'm sure your father or Rick would be going anyway.

If I could start the build all over I'd do it this second. Building the house was probably one of the funnest things I've ever done.

You've got to check out my new workbench I'm working on.
17'3" long, those Austrian dimensional 2x10s (not nominal like today's US lumber) from that huge pallet I got. Should handle weight just fine. :)

X2.

Eh, you don't need all that space. I built my Jeep in a 20'x12' garage.
That being said, you are right about parking indoors. Both of us park outside now. haha.

My workbench is a 12' x 3' industrial stainless table I just dug out from the basement kitchen of an abandoned psych ward that went defunct in 1990.

Awesome. I wanted a section of stainless top, but that will have to wait. Right now I'm going to double up 3/4" hardwood ply.

And Colin built his in a tent, and I did the better half of mine laying in the dirt.

If you wanted to work like that for the rest of your life you wouldn't have built your new garage. :)

Sure you don't need it, but at that level of investment, you better believe I'm gonna want what I'm paying for...
