Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So Dave from Dave's Offroad is going to try to get Profender to pay for my Mcmaster order for new fittings being overnighted.

He's pissed since he's had a few issues with the installers. He said the product itself is good, but it's when they get custom orders/fitting requests that he has issues.

Gotta say at least Dave has been awesome to deal with.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone ever get a personal loan for a few grand? Tips/tricks or advice to give?

every cherokee ive bought with a personal loan for 3k - 3.5k.

really easy. they always give you a high interest rate because they have no colatteral. i take the loan for 2 years, but i usually pay them off asap like 12 months. that way i get the title right away and if i lose my job or get unemployed the payment is 115 a month about so i can still make with out struggling. plus i keep bare bones insurance coverage on them. if they use the vehicle as collateral then you have have to keep full coverage. for me it works. others might do it a different way.

I tried to a few years ago. Stupid interest rates like 18-19%

This was 3 years ago so things may have changed but I'm pretty sure personal loans are always higher interest rates.

yes, rates will be much higher because there is no collateral. I believe rates were closer to 12% when I checked a year ago.

with good credit i get personal loans for 8%

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just overnighted some fittings/hose to fix the reservoir setups on my shocks.

Bill said he'd help me throw the shocks back together in the campground since I've never rebuilt anything before.

Yay.
It's easy.
Beer will work as substitute shock oil right?

Take out more than you want and just fix the truck good and keep it already.

That'd be nice if it works out.

probably going to. However... $5100 for a new motor (built with lbz rods/arp head studs), 1700 for a clutch, and 400 for a lift pump ain't cheap. So I'm still a little sad

I've got the majority of that right now, but I'd need to get a loan for a few thousand to do the remainder. And if I'm to keep the truck, I'm really not too comfortable with a JY motor the more I think about it. A 4yr warranty on a long block sounds way better than a 30 day warranty...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You COULD just put a stock motor in it and take the tuner off.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

youre not gonna need to recharge those shocks after pulling the hose off?
hopes and dreams

That $5100 is for a JY motor or new unit?

I think that's a much smarter plan dude, better to pay a little more now than a lot more later if/when the JY motor blows.

Thanks again for the trailer dude, it'll make this trip so much more fun without the stress of wondering how we'll get home.

I'm off to start packing, I have so much shit to do before we leave...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ross when are you going down and can I throw an 8.8 on your trailer on the way by?

I am planning on getting it at the JY tomorrow but not sure my deposit went through yet.

Also, Colin, if you're going by at the same time... I can pick that 231 up from you at the same time so it stops bouncing around in your truck. Unless it's been unloaded already and you'd have to load it back up, then I'll plan on grabbing it some other time.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I believe were planning to meet at the first rest stop/turnout on 84S off the pike at 10. If you wanna meet me there around 930 we can toss it on somewhere and get it strapped up. Me, Colin, Bill, and Sheep(?) planning to meet and convoy down. Anybody else?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's 11 miles roundtrip from my house and back, so I can definitely meet you guys there. You're talking about the one in mass, not the one in CT, right?

I just hope my damn deposit clears in time :laugh2: being broke sucks but this flying car job is looking more and more probable by the day, so after a few months of saving up/catching up on student loans and property taxes I should be in good shape again.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yessir, we're hoping to leave here by 6-6.30. Still want to meet up at your exit? Which one is it again?

Im exit 4w in NY. so you wont be by me till 9ish then. idk Ill probably be ready to go by 630-7. so I might head down on my own. if something changes Ill let you know.
