For some reason I thought that the Line Mtn race was the weekend right after memorial day weekend.

Maybe I'll make it after all. My 2.0s should be here next week. I'll build the rear shock mounts then use those to mock up some new front mounts. Hopefully the 2.5s get here ~a week before the race and I can make sure they fit and then burn the new front mounts in.

so my dumb car has had this rubbery crunching/ rubbing sound coming from the front end when turning at slow speeds. it seems to happen at random. I thought it was strut mounts

Turns out there is a tsb out there for the 16" alloy wheels (mine) when 225/50r16 goodyear eagle rs tires (mine) are mounted to them. The tires actually deflect from the wheel when turning and cause a scrubbing noise.

Never in my life have I heard of that, its hard to believe.

One of my buddy's gf's is doing her bday party on some boat... Have to go. Ill catch the next one. Plus a few of my buddies were gonna go and split gas but now we are all going to this thing.

So my rear lower links just showed up...33.5" of 2.25" 7075 aluminum, drilled and tapped for 1-1/4" rod ends. They look ****ing enormous. :laugh:

I showed one of 'em to our new guy and if he didn't already think I'm out of my mind, that probably just drove the point home...

Yes, one of my closest friends. No, I still don't have any money. This shindig only costs $25. I'm getting to the point where if I don't start making more money at a new job or something that I'm gonna be pretty ****ed. Gonna try and dump the VW off somehow (again).. I have to call VW and I've heard good things about carmax buying anything.. So ill see if they'll take it.

Now connect them to a 8.8 with 35's instead of one-tons and 40's.

Couple that with 1-3/8" uppers with 3/4" heims.

And 62.4% as much, ala SpeedyMetals.

Did anything bend that you didn't expect it to? Inner fender wells bent, but we all pretty much knew that would happen.

My door bar did before I added the one brace in. Kind of expected that since I pinballed off a few trees and rocks right on it.

My rear driveshaft has held up great. Laid on it multiple times and no damage. Just scrapes.

Carnax gives you wholesale price at best, I went there in 07 with an 04 tj with 45k on it and they offered me 4500, blue book was well over 10
