THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Also - I found two spare steering shaft bolts while I was clearing out the scrap pile in the corner of my yard a few days ago. Yours if you want em, I put them in the center console so I won't forget where they are.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Thanks dude. Whenever I see ya next is cool.

I just can't really torque on mine as it's ready to split in half and the threads are all boogered

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

your megasquirt issues have already convinced me never to consider megasquirt.

Hope my harness and tune works as advertised.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

does anyone know if the 4.7 WJ came with two different pumps. at the hollands there was a bunch of 4.7s but only one had a hydrolic fan the high pressure fitting for the pump was different than the others. i was hungery and didnt have the right size wrench to get it off so i said **** it

from all the searching i can do online i cann't seem to find anything saying there was dow diffenet pumps for the 4.7

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Power steering pumps? What year, specifically?

I checked a 99 WJ catalog because I had it open and it is the same pump whether the drivetrain is ER0 (4.0) or EV0 (4.7). There is a brace and a bolt that are only used on a 4.0 but I don't think those are used in a WJ pump swap on an XJ anyways.

Needs to be 01 and up with a 4.7 noob.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

shut up Mr. I put in a WJ pump and all my steering does is whine like the bitch I am.

:D

**** you Mrs. I built a sick Jeep and only wheel it twice a year.

Also, I bought a new pressure line and some PS fluid today so I can flush the ATF out and hope it quiets down.

But more importantly I rode the bike for ~10 miles and froze my ass off today. The whole time I was wondering why the hell I bother with Jeeps because motorcycles are way cooler.

I dont often wheel, but when I do I beat the shit outta my junk. Ill try to wheel three times this year just to prove you wrong.

Never been a fan of ATF in the steering, Ive always had better luck with PS fluid. PSC even says very clearly not to use ATF with their stuff.

Power steering fluid is for power steering, automatic transmission fluid is for automatic transmissions?

YOU GUYS GET THE **** OUT OF HERE

I JUST DONT GET HOW YOU FIGURED IT OUT

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was at a machine shop today. I was talking to the old dude that owned it and was telling him I wish I had one of those old giant line drive lathes, so I could take the belts out and bolt an old stick shift to it. So he goes, like this?

13+-+1

Starts it up and starts bangin gears on an old model A transmission.

Ive never understood why people run ATF. Its not like its cheaper or anything, I run Napa PS fluid and its been great for me.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Pat, I almost sent you on a wild goose chase today at Sams. Found a bright red 93 ZJ with no rust on the doors, even had the same color pinstriping and body cladding as yours I think... and then I opened the door and discovered the bottom 3" of it was rotted off under the cladding.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Let me know when you have 3 twice that size with a stupid truck holding them down in your backyard

In like a year I might find the motivation to start working on it, that way it might even be fully restored to working order by the time I can register it antique.

Ford calls for ATF in their power steering systems, so I was in the habit of running it seeing as that's all I drove for years, and that's what I had always run in all my Jeeps without issue up until now.

I've never understood why people blow money stockpiling giant axles they don't need:dunno:
