Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just bought the first new piece of gear for my guitar rig in over 5 years I think, maybe longer.

My little up/down foot selector for my rack FX unit was starting to act up and it annoyed me. This thing doesn't do anything on its own, but it'll work with my rack unit and has amp channel switching capability too, which you can program into the different presets. So one button can changes patches on my FX unit and change the amp channel/reverb at the same time.

I like being behind the curve on technology, because by the time I come across something 'cool', it's already ancient and cheap.

My rack unit is from 1996 (Boss GX700), I bought my primary guitar in 1998 (Jackson USA Soloist SL1), I bought my primary amp in 1997 (Ampeg VH140C), and my acoustic has been in the family since 1968 and was the first guitar I ever played. I fear change. :dunce:

But I'll still put any of it up against the newest/most modern amps & effects out there. **** that 'modeling' bullshit...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

how much did that shit cost? pretty cool shit

Not bad, I might have to start getting my oil analyzed once in a while. I figured it was more than that.

thats not too bad at all, maybe ill do a sample for my Dodge next time I change the oil.

This is what I design at work,Desktop sized machines that perform a full analysis on engine, hydraulic and gearbox oils.

If you guys want any of your oils checked, save some of the oil around 5oz or more and let me know the Info and I can get it check for you for free. I'm always looking for dirty crap oils to check with the stuff Im developing. We also do Coolant analysis stuff too, But thats more of a big rig diesel thing than gas jeeps.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

thats good to know Steve, didnt know thats what you did. I was just cruising around that site you linked. ill definitely let you know next time I change my oil. by the way, hows the practice welding going?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, anytime! Not bad, I've done a few flat welds so far and they came out ok, I'm still waiting for my tax $ and I'm buying some 1" .065 wall and taking some weekend time off to practice more and make a roof rack/light bar.

Can you do transmission oil too? Just found some shit in our tow trucks transmission fluid.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yup, any engine , transmission, gearbox, or hydraulic oil really. All I really need to know is the type and viscosity of the oil and how many miles or hours is on it.

Cool, I'll try and put some aside tomorrow.

So the oil guy installed a new thermostat for my gf's parents last week. The first floor never got heat after that. Last night I fixed it by installing the jumper the tech didnt put in, and had to give the circulator a little help turning on with a light tap of a hammer. Heat kicked on, no problems. What's the first thing the tech did when he came here today? Pulled off the jumper and told me i was wrong, and now is trying to figure out why the heat isn't working.

What terminals did you put the jumper in? There should've been a jumper on it right out of the box.
